Posts: 562 SC, Bluffton | Man, I wonder if it was any of you outbidding me on Ebay tonight? I bid on about
4 different 2nd Generation Nano Ipods, and the prices went over $100. I want a
2nd generation for the Vision, and anyone can buy a 3rd generation 4 GB for $149,
so why does the bidding get so high for the older technology? It must be Vision
owners.
I don't want to scare any mechanics with updating the Vision's ECM, or whatever,
to accomodate the "3rd generation" Ipod cr@p. I am willing to suffer whatever it
is the 2nd generation Ipod doesn't have. What am I up against, MS Vista conflicts
with Gen 2 Ipod? Hip me to the caveats of Gen 2.
Thank you, Herb
P.S. I ordered the $39.95 Ipod connector from Polaris directly today. |

Posts: 297 VA | nomad, I tried to do the same thing with the 2nd gen iPod. WHen I was trying to bid on them, they were going for over $130. I said screw it, for that price I'll just go get a brand new one that I can return if it screws up. I bought a 3rd gen, and it's really nice. I will say that the 3rd gen seems to have a lot longer battery life than the 2nd gen. My buddy has one and it does before mine, but that's not much of an issue when on the Vision since it charges it. Before I got the firmware upgrade, the only problem I had with 3rd gen was that the "mute" button didn't work. With the upgrade, everything seems to work great. My only fear of buying the ebay version was getting one that was going to conk out after awhile. Apple sells some refurbs on their website as well. But for the money, I'd just get the 3rd gen new. Oh wait, I did. |

Posts: 47 Lake Park, GA | I have a black 2gb 1st gen Nano that I'm not using. I would be willing to sell for $50 + shipping if someone wants it. I used it several times on the Vision before getting an iphone. It's used but in great shape. I have a set of ear buds and the sync cable for it. You will have to download itunes.
PM me if interested. |

Posts: 57 Twin Cities, MN | I bought a used 2nd gen on eBay. I had problems with it on the bike. It would work one day and not the next. Has an iPod - it worked perfectly. Just acted up when I plugged it into the bike. It had to be something loose in the port connection. I finally went out and bought a new 3rd gen. at Costco. I think I ended up paying around $110 on eBay. I tracked several before I bid - seems like the going rate for an 2nd gen 8GB. One thing to consider... I vacationed in the Dominican Republic a month ago and they still had 2nd gen iPods for sale at the airport. If you know anyone that travels - might be an option... |

If the dealer doesn't know what you are talking about, suggest politely, they they call their tech support contact. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | I have the latest upgrade and still have problems. My dealer has contacted me since and is working with Polaris who is working with the radio manufacturer to find a fix for my ipod issues. I think this is something they really want to find a fix for. Integrating personal electronics with the vehicles entertainment system is a big selling point for manufacturers. If your brand new ride will only work with yesterdays technology, you may start looking elsewhere. |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | I have had the same issues with the I-pod (Nano) as everyone else is having. I described it to the service manager at my last service and he contacted Victory. Got a call back a couple of days later from the service manager and he said they would up date the software and maybe replace the handle bar controls. I have found that everything works fine with the I-pod as long a I don't use the handle bar controls. My next service is coming up next week so I'm hoping handle bar control issues will be solved. |
