Posts: 79 Michigan | I have a deposit on one and have started my accessory list while I wait for it to come in.
The biggest question I have is the electric windshield really no longer standard? The brochure and web wording are not clear and the electric windshield is an option shown on the customize site. I think the heated seat is another question but that one doesn't bother me if it isn't there. Both are listed in the 2012 owners manual as (if equipped) but I believe that was the wording in the 2011 manual as well since it covered the Vision 8 Ball which didn't have either.
I am just wanting to know if that will be something I have to order and install. I'll happily pay the $250 and add it.
Thanks. Can't wait till she arrives. |

Posts: 154 Cabot Arkansas | The Victory site has both the heated seat and power windshield listed as standard:
"POWER WINDSHIELD AND FULL-COVERAGE FRAME MOUNTED FAIRINGSome riders feel they?re not getting their due without wind in their face. Others prefer calmer days in the saddle. With the push of a button both get their wish ? power the windshield up for full protection with wraparound faring, or slide the windshield down for the gentle wash that comes with the ride."
"
DUAL ZONE HEATED SEATS AND HANDGRIPSThe Vision Tour lacks for nothing in the comfort category, and as proof we offer up heated seats and handgrips as exhibit A. Together they offer the best means of enhancing your road warrior reputation, by adding precious road time to both sides of summer" |

Posts: 79 Michigan | I did see that listed but wasn't certain simply because it is an option under he customize section on the web. The brochure would seem to indicate it is still standard but neither it nor the web use the word "standard". |

My salesman called to let me know it was here and to set up delivery timing so I ran over for a quick stop. Due to weather delivery will be either Thursday night or Friday am. I have already scheduled Friday as a vacation day to get break in miles on it and Saturday is supposed to be nice as well. No pics yet but there will be.....oh there will be!

Posts: 79 Michigan | Here she is finally at home. Cold day Friday doing 100 miles of initial breakin. Did another 100 today riding out to my sisters for my Niece's birthday. Nice machine after the first 200 miles. I can see this one being my #1 all time favorite if this continues.
The only things that I have noticed that I didn't read about / expect were:
- fuel pump noise - a lot of high pitched whine at a stop <5 mph. Can't hear it when moving so I will deal with it
- over harsh bumps the back body work seems to rattle quite a bit. I cannot find anything loose.
yet and this may be items in my truck. I will know when I get my trunk mat and small item organized (both on order).
Over the first 200 miles the shifting is getting a bit smoother but still pretty clunky - as expected based on what I read on the forums. The engine is breaking in nicely as it seems to be "loosening" up a reving a bit more freely. Nice power as I am starting to get into slightly more throttle as the breakin miles start to add up.
I like the sound of the exhaust. A nice tone but also quite when moving along. Great ride. Reallly impressed by that to be honest. I didn't expect it to be so nice based on the test ride I did on the Vision 8ball.
I personally find the radio sound, volume (usually at level 9 riding along at 50 - 60 mph) to be more than adequate. I have put the kicker speaker upgrade on hold as a result. May still add them later. I also was a bit worried about the reception from some of the posts here but I am happy to report that the main metro detroit area radio stations were clear and crisp out to the Howell/Pickney area. Quite pleased.
The heated seat is nice but I don't know that I will use it much. The heated grips are another story. Outstanding and I really love them in this cool fall weather. I don't have to wear my big bulky winter gloves.
Speaking of items that help in cold weather.....how can you not love that electrically adjusted wind shield? I just love being able to adjust it to the conditions. Soooo convienient.
I find the temperature gauge and fuel economy on the display to be spot on compared to weather reports/bank signs, etc and manual mpg calculations i have done so far. Impressed with mid 40's f/e (display and calculated) so far. Based on the recommendations here - taking time to fill it - I have found no issues and that I don't really have to go that slow.
I don't like the rubber puck on the side stand. I am not used to having one and when trying to do a little move forward in the dark garage tonight it almost caused me to tip it over into items on the side of the garage. Luckily no damage as I was able to stop it and get it back upright. I will be more careful from now on but may consider removing it.
For some reason I though the side emblems were no longer illuminated. I was estatic when I started it today in the garage and noticed they are illuminated. I can't help it. I just think that is too cool.
I need to put some clear 3M film around the ignition to keep my soft leather key chain tag from putting light scuffs in the black paint.
That is it for now. I am looking forward to putting a lot of miles on this gorgeous girl. Gooding riding and keep the rubber side down!
Mark

Brings back memories of my '09... The first test drive, the surprises. Finding out the 'frivolous' electric windshield is now a necessity. The radio is such a nice touch, and used more than I thought. The heated grips - How did I live without them?!? Smooth, comfortable, stylish, unique. And the cool lighted badges. Power, handling.
It just gets better and better, my friend...

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Mark - A very thoughtful review. Generally its the tranny that makes the noise but it will quiet down as you put more miles on it. You need to post a photo of you & the bike together. Always looking for website front page photos.

Posts: 131 Edmond, OK 2012 Vision, 2012 Cross Country | I traded my 2011 in on my 2012 in late Oct. (Black) they transfered the chrome and accessories over and it now has approx. 1400 miles on it. I also got this month a 2012 Cross Country (daily rider) for Christmas and its Imperial Blue. The difference in the Vision is the price went down and Vic has a price difference guarantee on the 2011 as well. Other than that mine it went from pearl white to black and doesn't have 24,000 miles on it.

| Lovely looking bike, congratulations. The rubber puck is meant to fold the side stand if you forget to put it up when you take off. There is no side stand safety cut out. It is about as sensitive to tip over while moving around the garage as my previous bike , suzuki vstrom, which did not have a rubber puck. The rattle from the back is most likely the free play of the top box catches. Overfill the top box up with soft items so the lid is firm to close and listen to hear if it has stopped. If so there are various fixes, like packing near the catch with foam rubber. Others have found loose speakers or speaker mounts. Other than that think about fitting lower deflectors and enjoy your new bike. Does it have reverse fitted? |
