Fountain Inn, SC United States | You may have seen their link on the Vision-Riders homepage, you may have even been following their travellog, but luckily, I was able to meet up with the great folks from New Zealand living probably everyone's dream, a 3 month tour of the US and Canada. Starting in San Francisco on March 3rd, they've zigzagged much of the country, venturing as far south as Oklahoma and as far north as Alberta, CA. They made their way through Boston yesterday and through emails and phone calls, we met at my office. Emil & Brenda, Noel & Ruby are living my dream and they've been nice enough to share it us about it on their site, BumsOnBikes. I invite you visit their site and read up on them. Much of their fun-loving, friendly, don't-take-yourself-too-seriously, personalities come through in their writings, bios, and stories. There will be a segment in the upcoming VRA magazine on them as well. As of this writing they only have a few weeks left of their trip which ends in New York. They also have a tour of Europe planned for the summer, then hopefully will be back in the US in December for a tour of the southern states. As we sat down for lunch, they had many stories and encounters to tell. Never having visited the states before, they bring a fresh perspective to our lives.
Just wanted to pass along best wishes to them and hopes for a safe ride for the road ahead.

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | I have been reading all of their logs and am very envious of them in the fact they are doing now what I want to do someday. I'm glad to hear they are coming to southern states later. Nice picture of all of you. A little obervation about the two Visions, both have Stage 1 Level 2 pipes on them. Interesting that these two bikes got Level 2 on them in March. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | That's Correct. However I don't think they had the pipes when they picked up the bikes. I believe they got them while visiting Polaris HQ. They mentioned it was complicated by the fact the bikes are California bikes, but I can't remember why. |

Jacksonville Florida | I'm a little hot. My dealer and I'm sure others have had level 2 pipes on back order since August of 07. Some of the Vision owners have had their pipes on order since 07 and a couple of Kiwis come to town and Polaris hands out two sets of pipes to bikes sold in Ca. where CARB has not approved the level 2. I believe that's the case. If I'm wrong I apologize. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Understandable Len, however lets keep on topic. This thread is about the Kiwis, not the pipes. My fault for getting sidetracked. |

Posts: 115 Victoria, BC | I have been following them for awhile now. Earlier I sent them an e-mail & got a quick response from Ruby. I try to keep in touch with them once in awhile - very nice people. I enjoy their blog & pictures. Definitely a hardy bunch!
Wish they could come to Vancouver Island when they get back from Europe, but that will be in the middle of winter, & after the cold weather this year, they're smart to stay in the southern States & enjoy the warmth.
I love the graphics on their bikes. Too cool!
I pray they have a safe journey and return home healthy to their loved ones - without any accidents, incidents or even near misses.

| Hi Guys and Gals and all those of you interested in the VISIONS
These bikes are proving to be a wonderful assets to us as we cruise over, up and down the USA Comfortable and are certainly easy to control, although I must say at low speeds with all the weight we are carrying they tend to be a hand full. But nothing we can't handle
Now the comment about these pipes. Vision didn't supply the pipes to us, we did talk to others first of all and figured at with the Californian emission controlled systems the bikes were not performing as we would like, so we called into dealers on our travels to see if the stage 2 pipes were available. Fortunately for us we found a dealer that had 2 sets delivered that week and was willing to do oil changes and filters and also fit these new exhaust systems
Now not being a spoil sport to you fellow American Victory bikers we thought he was providing a service that we are accustomed to at home
If you feel we jumped the cue I am sorry you feel this way
We have now travelled 10500 miles on these 2 Visions in 10 weeks .We brought them for their uniqueness and style. Being new onto the market was a chance we took , would they preform and be reliable for the distance we tend to travel.
Having Victory and their dealerships only to willing to offer advice and be on call as it were makes our trip even more enjoyable and I thank them for their time and effort
Victory wish that this bike is going to be successful and we tend to do our bit to help
Thanks to those who have shown an interest in our site and undertaking, we have meet some wonderful people , maybe when we pass your neighbourhood you can share some stories and time with us
Cheers Numb Nuts |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | Dont worry about the pipes. We're all just jealous. Most would have done the same thing given the oppertunity. We are all on a learning curve, including Victory. You have experienced first hand what all of use in Ca go through on a daily basis. Glad your having a great time in the US. If your ever in So Cal give us a call. |

| Good luck on your travels.
As far as the pipes go, no matter what you say or explain Americans use the internet to whine about anything and everything. Hopefully they don't do that back on your "island". What a wonderful thing to waste.
My dream has been to ride around Australia on a motorcycle. Maybe someday. I am jealous of you.... |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Awesome, to be able to ride and enjoy, glad you Kiwi's are enjoying yourself, hopefully you are taking some backroads and seeing more of the countryside and not just the touristy interstate travel. Take a right turn somewhere and see what little podunk town you wind up in, and have dinner (lunch) or supper (dinner). Most of the times a two laner is far more fun than a divided four lane. |

| Hey everyone... just to finally clear this up, we in fact have Stage one, level two pipes. Sorry for the confusion our mistake caused. Cheers Ruby |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Ruby, no need to apologize, there is no confusion or mistake, the knuckledraggers get all twisted and fired up when they don't have the lastest gizmo or fastest air exhaust. I say confuse'm some more: Tell them you actually have Stage Two, level three pipes, prototypes not to be released to general public. Installed for free at the manufacturing plant, due to the fact, you will review and test them for Victory. If that doesn't get their attention nothing will, but it will.
If nothing else, just visit once daily and write on this thread: Gotta GO, I bet you wish you were me. MMMUUUUUUAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Click submit, close lid, grab gear and RIDE BABY, RIDE!!!! Don't forget to make a right turn ocassionally. |

Posts: 548 Mount Vernon, WA United States | So what happens to the bikes when you go home?? Would be real nice if Vic Corporate helped out with the shipping costs to get them home and then to Europe for the next trip. It's the least they can do, for what you are doing for the brand.
Thanks again for sharing it all, and ride safe. |

Jacksonville Florida | The dark cloud is not over the Kiwis. It's over Polaris/Victory for being unable or unwilling to support all of their customers. My Vision isn't my first Victory purchase, but it's my last. |

Ha...LOL...I love that response. I had no problem getting my pipes the day I bought the Vision. It may be your dealer. Don't think for a minute if you buy a different brand that there won't be other problems. To give up a great bike because you can't get pipes may be a little drastic. Ride on it... |

Jacksonville Florida | The Victory Vision is a great bike. It is Victory/Polaris that is the problem. Remember what happened to G.M. and Ford when they were not responsive to their customers? If they are having problems let us know and then we can move on. "What we have here is a lack of communication." |
