A C-130 was lumbering along when an F-16 flashed by.
The jet jockey decided to show off.
The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot; ' watch this ! ' and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb..
He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier. The F-16 pilot asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that ?
The C-130 pilot said; ' That was impressive; but watch this ! '
The C-130 droned along for about 5 minutes and then the C-130 pilot came back on and said: ' What did you think of that ? '
Puzzled; the F-16 pilot asked; ' What the heck did you do ? '
The C-130 pilot chuckled. ' I stood up; stretched my legs; walked to the back; then got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll. '
When you are young & foolish - speed & flash may seem a good thing !
When you get older & smarter - comfort & dull is not such a bad thing !
Us older folks understand this one; it's called S.O.S. Slower, Older and Smarter... |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | yeah, I just talked to a young guy who rides harleys but is getting tired of being tired while riding because of the lack of comfort. He's considering a Vision and I told him as an old guy it was a very smart move for me. |

Posts: 96 Princeton, IL | Yep, I remember saying there was no way I would ever own a motorcycle with a windshield - it doesn't look cool. Then I got tired of being sand blasted on the highway so I got a bike with a windshield. I then said I would use a wind shield but never ride a big touring bike, that was for old farts. I then got tired of the wind blast on long rides so I bought a Vision. I also got electric clothing last year. Not only do I ride much more comfortably, I can ride much earlier and later into the season. Older and much wiser I say! |

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | Well, I'll be darned ! Someone admitting that 'smarter' is better than 'younger' .... Bikers are BAD. They like to 'let on' that they are kewl. Hip. Ahead of the curve. Only problem is - they AGE - like everyone else. But the secret is - aging IS kewl and the youngsters can't appreciate what we have done, and learned. "Buncha Old Farts" is the way they see us. I just chuckle, and enjoy - I enjoy the youngster's ignorance, and enjoy the wisdom of age. All of us old farts were young, and can appreciate the beauty of youth. And the joy of living. Here's to OLD FARTS !
