Posts: 102 Orlando | I’ve been pretty unhappy with the wet weather traction of the OEM VV tires (ass end coming loose). Wet say you all? Ideas? |

| What do you except when there are big flay rubber areas and very little rain groves. But then with the more groves it takes more power to move a 800 pound bike.
Hope I said it right. |

Posts: 523 seattle, wa | I haven't had any trouble on wet roads, but I have noticed it get slippery on tar snakes. I don't think it is the tires, I have used Dunlops on all my bikes for the past several years, aren't they the same tires as on a Wing? The Vision isn't all that much different weight distribution wise from any other heavy tourer is it?
I was thinking it might be something in the rear end, loose bushings, worn bearings, something of that nature. |

Posts: 102 Orlando | Dunlops are a harder rubber compond, good miles out of them, but too hard for great wet traction. Avon is a very soft compond, great traction but very poor miles from them.
I always had great results from Metzler... any users on Vision?
As far as rear bearings... I would notice this wet or dry.
And yes John, very few traction grooves on that back tire.
Thanks! |

Posts: 494 Akron Ohio area | My 2011 Vision is a little squirrelly on wet pavement, mainly when tar snakes or painted areas are present.
As said above, we get good mileage out of our tires because of a harder rubber composition in the center. |

I tried Metzelers, I agree they are stickier but wear out too fast.
I tried Avons once too, but didn't like them at all.
If you have liked Metzelers in the past, give em a try. |

Posts: 880 Orlando, FL | From my experience tires that last a lot of miles are harder and do not have the traction of low mileage tires. I am not a fan of the Dunlop E3's. But then I have never liked Dunlops performance. Of course the mileage is great. . I have always found Metzlers or Avons a better tire. |

It's raised for longer wear and reflectorized so ANY moisture at all makes them slicker than a politician even if it's just been foggy or damp overnight. Never had an issue with DUNLOPS, BRIDGESTONES? yes they get gooseyer than a freshly milked tiger |

| 10000 miles. The front tire could go longer, probably 4-6000 miles more. I change both out at the same time for safety. Other tires can go longer but I always have liked a softer tire that grips. |
