The federal government pass a law to change that. You can read it and see for your self. It says you can do what ever you want to your bike and in this case Victory would have to prove in a court of law that what you did or the parts you put on was at fault. Both pipes are great performers. I personally haven't handled the D&D, but I've compared various dyno charts. The Ness Honkers seem to make torque earlier in the RPM range than the D&D's, while the D&D's may peak out a little higher. I believe though that if you look at the area under the torque curve, there's a little more across the board with the Honkers. Also, the honkers tend to make decent HP also. After hearing them on a friend's bike, that's what I went with.
If I were you, I would go to Lloydz' website and look at his dyno's. Look at the hp/tq curves from the various builds. Again, I think the Honkers is a somewhat better, more even curve, but the D&D's definitely make some power too.

technically if you took victory to court over a warranty claim to try and defend the use and aftermarket exhaust and fuel controller you might be finding that you yourself need a lawyer considering it is illegal to alter your stock exhaust according to the stamping on the mufflers and in the owners booklet. and if you read the fine print on websites like powercommander. they say in their legal notes (for off road use only) all of this is based on E.P.A. regs. so yeah while victory cant deny a claim unless they can prove what you did caused the problem.. at the same time it is technically illegal to do it in the first place. so who win?
btw i did add a power commander 5 to my vision. and just the victory s1l1 mufflers.

I had the D&D exhaust installed when Lloyd did all of the performance upgrades last July and I couldn't be happier. They sound nice and gave me a nice torque curve like Lloyd suggested they would! |

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I have the Ness Big Honkers and LLoyd intake plate on my '08. No intake noise to speak of. I had Victory S1L1 on my first Vision and it wasn't very loud. The Big honkers roar when you get on the throttle, but still allow you to listen to the radio at cruising speeds. That setup with a LLoyds VFC-III gives me 92HP and just shy of 112 ft/lbs of torque. |

Posts: 130 Houston, Tx | I personally LOVE the sound/tone of the Honkers I'm using on my '10 Tour. I also have Lloydz VFC GenIII which I pulled off my '08 Jackpot before trade-in. Lastly, I installed the Ness Twin Sucker filters (front & top)...stock map but the fuel controller compensates for the overall Stage 1 upgrade. Never been on a dyno...but she pulls great and sounds even better when you twist the throttle.
I think the D&D's are a little bit quieter. That said, when I was shopping price was a factor. I got my Honkers 2nd hand shipped to me for a fraction of the D&D price.
One thing, when checking into a 116" build...was told that the Honkers are a bit to open of a pipe for this large of a build and some power is left on the table. They recommended D&D. However, for the basic St1 and/or just cams...Honkers are a great choice IMO.
