As we all know, the stock radio on the 2008 Victory Vision has very poor reception. The culprit is the antenna. The stock one is hidden behind the lower cowling. Being behind metal severely limits its reception. In addition, it is not properly grounded allowing interference and noise to further degrade the signal. The stock antenna simply does not work.

I started with an amplified hidden antenna because I didn't want to interrupt the sleek look of the Vision (Metra 44UA200).

It was an improvement, but still wouldn't pick up my favorite station (or many others).

I finally installed a mast type antenna. This did the trick. The Vision radio now picks up almost as many stations as my truck. And they are clear and the stereo indicator "ST" on the display stays on. Most of the stations that the Seek button picks up are much louder now.

The link below shows the installation procedure. Click on the first photo then click the arrow to the right to page through the pics. See the captions at the bottom of each photo. If you are using a mobile device, the captions will clutter up the screen. Best to use a computer. To really understand how much better a mast antenna works, be sure to see the comparison chart which is the last photo in the album. The comparison chart has also been attached to the bottom of this posting for reference.
