Posts: 48 Cornwall England | Guys. I have a Euro spec 2011 VV Tour ABS and want to get the running lights on the Trunk illiuminated (they come blanked off !!!) I have attached a file (I hope) of the blanked off lens and the cable. The cable is live so I know there is power. Can someone please take a pic of the socket and bulb of the trunk running light so I can have an idea of what they look like. I have looked in the parts list and there does not seem to be a listing for the socket and bulb only the complete lens, I would rather just add a socket and bulb instead of the complete lens Thanks in advance Steve

Central Wisconsin | Hey Guys, Big Steve wants to light up his trunk lid taillights. The Vision that he owns was sent to Europe missing the trunk lid taillight bulb socket(s). I took several pics to help show what he's looking for.

I looked on several internet sites and was unable to find the exact socket(s). I live in a rural area making it inconvenient to physically check out part stores. Taking the trunk lid taillight out is a simple task with only two screws. So I'm asking if someone could try and find the bulb socket(s) or even a different one that would fit the cut-out hole in the trunk lid taillight for Big Steve. On another note...I met Steve & his wife Sue last summer in Colorado. They flew from the UK to Arizona and rented a Victory Vision for the 2nd time. They both liked the bike so much that they bought one over in the UK.

Posts: 337 san antonio, tx | Are there any markings at all on any of the parts? That might be helpful in finding the source.
Can you tell me what bulb is used? (T1, etc)

The bulb appears to be maybe a 5w wedge type. Marking are 0512V w E1 2GL W5W896

Posts: 48 Cornwall England | Thanks for posting all the details Tom, this is really frustrating, I only want two bloody plugs and they are not detailed in any Victory model (I have been through all the parts lists......). I have a request into Polaris but that will take 3 working days minimum to reply and the dealer has no idea (as its Euro spec) and when did a dealer know about the bikes they sell.......
I await the results of the forum members someone will know or even have some from puting in LED or something.............please

Central Wisconsin | Steve your Welcome, I can understand your frustration across the pond.
All you want to do is light up the trunk lid taillights without having to buy the trunk lid taillight$ just to get the socket(s). It's unfortunate that Polaris doesn't make these bulb socket(s) available to it's dealers.

Posts: 337 san antonio, tx | Well, I looked everywhere I could think and came up empty. I did find a dealer that carries the EPC line in England but was not able to find the proper piece.

I had problems with their website, but you might have better luck. |

That's exactly as far as I got. Looks like the same base for the socket/bulb . I emailed them with some pics, hopefully they will come through for Steve. Kind of ironic that Automotive wiring systems which handles some EPC products is based in England...

Posts: 337 san antonio, tx | Another option might be to just go to an autoparts dealer and buy a twist in socket like is used on many cars. It looks the same to me as what is in the marker lights on my GM truck and my wife's Toyota SUV. You would just have to splice it in. Probably way cheaper than any other option you're going to find. |

Posts: 48 Cornwall England | Cutting off the socket and wiring in a new system s going to be the last resort, i would rather keep it orginal as I can thats why I am trying to source the orginal plug. Currently wading thru the automatove product sight........If I find the right one I could get it from Mouser.com (another UK sight) they stock milloins of products but without the right keywords it is a very long trawl.
Thanks for all those that have posted it all helps and when I find it it will be posted so someone els does not have to do too much digging
Cheers

| Have you tried the motorcycle salvage yards here in the states? You might find a banged up lens for dirt cheap - provided the socket and connection are still good. Left or right wouldn't matter either.
Here is a fast result I got from Google:
