| Is it really necessary to change belt at 30000. It looks to be in great shape. A friend has 50000 on his belt.

san antonio, tx | I think it's a crap shoot. Sometimes they seem to last forever and sometimes not. The belt on my Kingpin snapped at about 45K without any warning or indication that it was damaged or excessively worn.
I do think that it may have been reinstalled too tightly when I had the rear tire replaced about 1K before it broke. |

New Bohemia, VA | I can partly agree that it is a crap shoot, given even a brand new belt can snap under the rigth circumstance. I think age and how you treat it has a lot to do with it. Considering for some 30,000 is about 10 years, a 10 year old belt is drot-rot. I'm figuring with frequent inspections and care the belt would last about 100,000 if you made it within the first 5 to 6 years. A tech and Victory would say differently and I'm neither, so take it with a grain of salt. |

on the edge of Los Angeles | Here in Sunny Southern California I have 70,000 + on my original belt. Mostly one up riding and no trunk (Less Weight) The only rcks I have encountered is from a freshly paved road but not all that often
Riding it almost every day keeps it from taking any sort of a set on the front pulley.
BTW I have a new one already just in case...

Surprised your old style belt made it that far. With the 100/6 came a carbon fibre, and Kevlar belt that is MUCH stronger then the belt used for 92" bikes.
I know lots of people with hot rod Visions, and they ride the piss out of them. Most have 60K+ on their belts without failure |
