Posts: 763 Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | I installed the Flash2Pass garage door opener on my 08 Vision. It worked great for approximately 1 year. Now, every time the power goes out the garage door opens when the power comes back on.
My dear retired neighbor has saved my water pipes from freezing several times by closing it for me. My garage is heated, so my heater would have ran for 2 days straight on one occassion. On another occassion, I had 8" of snow in my garage from the wind. What a mess that was to clean up.
I tested the system by plugging and unplugging the 110V cord from the garage door opener. Each time I plugged it in, the garage door opened. I pulled the wire off the Flash2Pass button on the wall (which is also the receiver for the transmitter installed on the bike). This stopped the door from opening on its own. Basically, pulling the wire off the button disables the whole
F2P unit and returns the opener back to original condition. I am back to using my stock remote that came with opener. I don't like using it on the bike because it is big and bulky and doesn't work until I get it completely out of the glove box.
Even if the F2P could be fixed, I am quite hesitant to ever trust it again. That fault could cause a lot of costly damage to my house and burn up my heater.
Questions:
1. Has anyone else experienced the Flass2Pass opening the door when it should not?
2. Have you tried to flip the breaker in the main breaker box of the house to see what happens when you flip it back on?
3. Anyone have trouble-free F2P and 100% happy with it?
Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| I have had a problem with this Flash 2 Pass also, the transmitter or the reciever stoped working 2 months after I bought it. Tried to get a hold of the company that made it but everything was disconnected or out of service. When it did work it worded as advertised. |

Thanks for the contact info.
I was planning to call the company, but was hoping to gather some info first. I figure if I just tell them it doesn't work then I will get a canned response. If I do my homework and familarize myself with the product and it's issues then we (F2P and myself) might be able to reach a solution quicker.
Like others, my range was only about 5ft. I had to touch my front tire to the garage door before it would work. Those of you that are getting 100 ft range:
1. Where did you mount the transmitter on your bike?
2. Where did you mount the receiver?
3. Do you have a metal or wooden door?
3. Is your house brick or other material?
Thanks for the info. |

Lincoln, now being replaced by the Nimitz is in port, something to do with the ships electronics countermeasures systems will cause dozens of garage doors all over town to pop open. |

Posts: 25 Walhalla, SC. USA | I have 100 foot range. My transmitter is inside the fairing. The receiver is about ten feet inside the garage door, on the wall next to the garage's side door. The garage door is vinyl. The house is stick-built, with vinyl siding. The driveway is asphalt. The garage is gray. The garage door is white. The fairing is black. Just covering all the bases. |

The transmitter is installed under the metal shroud above the headlight
2. Where did you mount the receiver? The receiver is located on the back wall of the garage
3. Do you have a metal or wooden door? We have a metal garage door with metal backed insulation added to it
4. Is your house brick or other material? Thanks for the info. House is stick framing with 1/2 vinyl siding and 1/2 brick...
The wife has a F2P on her Spyder also and it works just the one on my Vision...I would suggest looking to see if the receiver has a lithium battery (memory)...If you lose power and the garage door opens there might be a battery that has gone bad inside the receiver....
