Don't want to "rub it in" but Laura and I went for a little 300 mile jaunt for lunch Saturday. High was around 70 and completely clear, blue skies. I went for another lunch ride today - a high of only 62 w/ clear skies. Total=526 miles in 2 days riding.

Man, I love livin' in Florida and being able to ride year 'round !!!!!!

I love this mild winter in Pennsylvania! I haven't stopped riding since adopting my Vision last April! The Vision has only been in the garage a total of about three days this January, and has been my primary transport on all exept the three ice/salt days. Coldest ride has been in the mid twenties, most days in the upper 30's to low 40's, which is very much still comfortable on the Vision. (Compare that to my previous scoot; Honda Shadow, which I still rode, but felt the cold!

You don't have to live in Florida to ride year round, you just need long johns in point further north... glad to hear you got in a ride...

You can keep Florida...The roads are to straight and BORING!!! <YAWN> Just buy heated clothes and ride year round like I do...Well except for my knee surgery last week...Wouldn't you know we had temps in the mid 60's too...

Well there's always next week...In a month or so Florida will be broiling and East Tn will be just right, mid 50 and 60's no bugs and leaves on the trees just starting to pop. then off to the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, The Snake, and a gazillion other great twisty roads that you all in Florida DON'T HAVE!!

While some roads are more exciting than others, no road is boring on a bike.

Been getting some good riding in; here in Maryland. Had some rain that washed all of the road salts away. This morning; a nice 50 mile commute in to work @ 80mph with 35 degree ambient air temperature. Gotta love the Vision (and heated Gerbing gear too)...!

Don't nobody mess with CoolHandLuke, what some of you new guys miss, is that he has it setup just right. Down to Florida to stay comfortable during the winter and then load the Toy Hauler up with the Vision and find a new cool spot during the summer and ride there. He has my plan, except he's doing it now.

Way to go man, hoping to follow in the footsteps. However the ride this morning was wonderful at low 40s up to mid 60's on the way home.

I read this morning that GW ended 15 years ago and we're headed for an ice age. If you ask me they are all a bunch of lunies who make a living dreaming up stuff.

Lived and rode in Kissimmee Florida for 5 years. And ONE ride here tops 5 YEARS of riding in Florida.

Oh yeah - and I haven't gone more than 2 weeks without a ride so far this winter. Just shorter rides to fit the shorter days.

Oh yeah yeah - and our days in summer are 2 hours longer than Florida summer days - and a LOT dryer without the monsoons ....

Let's see, what else???? I'll think of it - gimme time (hmmm, gators, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, pythons ... )

Oh yeah, did I mention insects big enough to knock you off your bike ???

And then kill you while you're laying on the road trying not to get eaten by something even bigger ?????

Well I would never have believed it but it will be 40 degrees this Sunday and sunny here in Fargo North Dakota. I will pull the Vision out of hibernation for a ride for sure. Last year it was -28 with a windchill of -50. We also had 6 ft of snow on the ground and no sign of pavement. This year we have only had a few light snow flurries and 2 weeks of temps close to or just under 0 degrees. There is a God! and he is blessing those of us who really need a RIDE! This spring should be great... not too much snow yet, no flooding expected on the Red River and sub zero weather is nowhere to be found. See you on the road.

Feb 3, 2012 - here is a video of our ride yesterday - sunny, 10c (50f). More birds than bikes, but you get the idea of a winter ride in BC.

Been in the 60's the last couple of days in CT. A surprising number of bikes out yesterday considering we had about 6-8 inches of snown few days ago. I ride all winter...just not as much and I don't go out if the roads are icy or heavily salted.

vvt - baaaahaaaaa, love it, really. About three winters ago, we got freezing rain in the morning, the kind that just makes people go over the top stupid. Freezing on the road, driving like it is summer time, cars all in the ditch, pile-ups, etc. I got to work both mornings just moments before the rain started, so there sat my motorcycle in the parking lot when folks finally pulled in. I had a lot of people asking how I did it...

I ride year round, it's never too cold or too hot to ride. I've ridden in 107 degrees and 5 degrees. As long as there is no frozen precip on the road, it's a good day to ride.

anything below freezing means there will be 3 bikes in motorcycle parking at my work. 1. The Visionquest 2. a KLR 650 ( I think its about 3 or 4 years old with over 60K on it.) and 3. a Harley fatboy. The wierd thing is , me and the other 2 riders graduated from the same high school. One guy is my age and the other is 2 years older than us. This is in a plant that employs about 400 of which there are 20 -30 riders parked out front on a fair weather day.
