Well, after months of waiting for Old Man Winter to finally depart from Michigan, and many of weeks of haggling with three dealers to get the bike I wanted for the price I wanted, I can at last say that I am officially a Vision Rider! The wife and I dropped off the beloved '06 Supersonic Blue Kingpin Friday at noon and rode home on a brand-spankin' new Midnight Cherry Vision Tour Premium.

I would have posted sooner, but it didn't rain until today so we've been out riding. A little over 500 miles so far. There will be some pics soon, but really it just looks like every other Midnight Cherry TP, so y'all already know what it looks like. Speaking of which, anyone have any ideas for some nice stripes or graphics? I'll be taking it in on Wednesday for its 500 mile service and to get the Stage1 Level 2 kit installed. I'll let y'all know if I notice a difference.

We took it on its first "big" ride on Saturday for Bubba's Annual Memorial Day Poker Run. As most of all of you are already aware, it drew crowds whenever we stopped. Everyone wanted to know everything about it. Luckily, I've been keeping up on conversations here at V-R, so I was able to answer a lot questions about things that don't normally interest me, like trailer hitches, etc. And, of course, I could point the more web-savvy folks over to Gadget Guy's excellent blog on his first few weeks of ownership.

I also have a small request to make. When I first started reading here about the "Vision Pilot" stickers I kinda crinkled my brow and thought WTH? That's kinda silly. But after this weekend and having so many people make comments like, "I'll bet you need a special license to fly that thing" and "Holy cow! Can it fly, too??" and "That looks like something Flash Gordon would fly around on," and "It looks like you could just add some wings and just take right off!", I think I would like to request a set of Pilot/Co-Pilot stickers from whomever it is that's making them.
Just let me know much for them.

Anyway, it looks like the rain is stopping, so we make take the new Vision out for another ride before I have to get ready for work. I'll try to post some more on the next rainy day.

Keep the shiny side up!

Rebel, you mentioned your wife and you dropping off the beloved '06 Kingpin. I'll bet she is sure happy you have made the change! My wife and I gave up a beloved '04 Kingpin and it was really a nice bike, there are some pics on my gallery. On our first test ride all she could say after we stopped, "If you don't buy this bike, I will". I hope you and Mrs. Rebel enjoy many miles on your new ride. "Giddy-up".

Congrats on the new bike and welcome Rebel!

Songfan was the member that had the stickers made.
