Maybe log back in under your hidden alias and give yourself some KUDOS and then back here to take the Podium! Did they invite you to the Victory meet like ROLLIN'?
I read the entire article and I knew it all already, really disappointed with no mention of OIL!
Very well done and written in a very humble manner, with the mention of the other fella on his Harley, I remember that story. I like the fact that they even included the almost current mileage.
Who wrote that and took the pictures? EVEN got the NAME OF THE BIKE in there! GO BENTLEY!!!!!
I do have to admit I did not know the part about putting tassles on it to give it some tie back to an Indian. Very Cool!
Hopefully Victory will notice this and send you a nice little gift bag or doo dad! Very cool! Glad to have met you and now I know somebody famous in PRINT!
Ride on!!!! |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Wow! Thanks guys. Truthfully, it is riders like you all that keeps me riding. It's also one of those things that I do because of my defiance in growing old. I figure the day I have to give up riding, is the day I officially become an old man, not to say anything to those who have had to. Thanks for all the kind words. Mr Sug excellent Thanks Mr. Sug Trekwolf164 Nice write up Congrats. Wish DC could have lived till 100000 + miles You were on your way, but you're not done yet!!! Thanks TW. V92SC Congrads Varyder, You're my hero VV ryder. When I retire, no time soon, I want to clock as many miles on my VV as you. The truth is I hope you keep going so I never catch up. That 100K sure shows those wings a thing about reliability, toughness, and longevity on the road. Go Varyder!!!!! Hero? Naw, just a nut who likes to ride. Yes, the wings have a little to do with it. Back in the day with the 82d I had to put up with a lot of stuff to be tough, and I was a mechanic. Working on trucks in the rain, in the dark, in the mud, and that was a training exercise. But we never quit what we were doing until it was done. It is with that same spirit I ride, but on my terms... As far as catching up, please do, anyone, I'd like to hear folks racking up the miles, that's what these things are for... lennyb Recognition well deserved. Thanks for being such a great ambassador for Victory and particularly for the Vision. Yeah lennyb, I've been accused of being a "cheerleader" for the Vision. I'm getting the little cheerleader outfit made and I'm going to wear it at the first meet I go to, pom-poms and all... Thanks! marcparnes What a great story! Thanks marc! donetracy +1 - you keep it up, Cap'n Don, I think you should get in there, send your stuff to Mike - didn't you ride the Vision on your honeymoon? Thanks!! hulign Wow that is so cool. Makes me want to go for a ride. Also makes me feel like a wimp for not riding today. Thanks!!! Ride, ride, ride. That's what makes me ride all the time, because everytime I don't, someone makes me feel like a wimp. roundtwig, Nice little pat on the back for doing something you love doing! Congrats Thanks rt, one of these days I'll get that way again so we can ride some of those Arizona highways again - you all have it made for riding terroritory. SpookyEng Excellent! Gives me a little extra motivation to get out and ride! Ride. Thanks! Cometman Chris, you are da man! Great job! To think I almost got to meet the captain of the Enterprise Vision. You need to email Mike. Thank you! rwilly Congrats, thats a cool story. It's nice to see Vic recognizing the riders. Thanks to one of the fellow Vision riders that sent and email to Mike, who sent an email to me and I glady responded. My guess, all of you have a story to tell that the rest would love to hear. ScoreBo Congrats, Chris! ----- John Thanks John! ja70cad Impressive!!! Thanks!!! kris1956 Congrats, job well done. Thank you!!! Fastfred Nice job Got to love the Vision!!!! Thanks!!! Yes I do, but not as much as my wife, but she would beg to differ... hottierod Chris, Congrats- nice story! Thank you!!! jimtom My friend, YOU ROCK! I'm trying to be like you!!! PoWhoDoKnowHowToRideTooButHasAHardTimeGettingToTheSaddleLittle!!!! I'm trying to be a man of few words and more miles. The other alias is off to a mysterous island for a little while. I don't think I'll be getting any invite, just doing a few miles around town ain't nothing to boast about in comparison to sitting in the saddle 10 solid days like the Steve does. As far as the slicky goes - I'm actually going back to ma Vic because I've got what I believe to be a little slippage on the friction plates. I want to see if I can get a couple more miles on it before a bust the case. There were so many more mentionables, to include the time at the pig palace in Ashland and your secret is safe with me. I threw a few words in an email and Mr. Dapper did the rest, not embelishing, but he did do some really good lead-ins, and thankfully got the grammar trolls to pick through it. I couldn't leave out the Bentley, and it's hard to be torn between two lovers, I've got to have that Indian before they put me six-feet under. But, I'll say that the Vision will never be beat for ride and comfort. radioteacher Chris, Great write up. Well deserved! Ride Safe Thanks RT - Glad we got to meet! okie vision Great article. Congratulations Thank you!!! SongFan You deserved the article as much for your constant, positive promotion of the Vision as the high mileage. I can't wait until you finally get your dream Indian. Yeah Tom, me neither, the Vision will be the ride, the Indian will be the Sunday go-to-meetin' bike!!! Thanks!!! You're the motivator!!! Joker Chris, Congratulations, It was nice meeting and riding with you and the Bentley when you were in Georgia a year or so ago... and to think I knew you when you were a nobody... I was in Atlanta last week and even went to Conyers, but I didn't have the bike. Just an overnighter and I tried to find that eat place, but didn't so I went to PaPa's Buffet. I hope to get that way again!! And, I'm still a "nobody", just a guy with a bike. You on the other hand ought to a book on biker diners and how to pick them... Biscuit Congrats Chris! I've always wanted to know someone famous. Let me know when you meet him, I'd like to be with you when you do!!!! Thanks - don't forget, you have part of the Bentley, albeit, a small part. When's lunch? dan camarco Congratulations nice job keep it up you inspire us all . Thanks dan!!! Anyone who rides inspires me - I'm glad I ride! CoolHandLuke Well done, my "now famous" friend! I'm trying to keep up with you, as I've been riding 3 or more days a week all this year (so far). Luke - keep at it, I'm impressed with your miles despite having a toy hauler. You know how to ride. I hope we can meet some time soon. Lojak Congrat. Varyder...WOW Nice Write up.. How do i get my hands on a Dashboard organizer like yours.....Please please tell me ,, Thanks!!! I'm trying to get some time, I've learned a lot and want to improve what I have and hopefully get into the grove to see if I can get a few made. There was another fellar that made them too but don't know where he went. It wasn't exactly the same but I'm sure it would suffice. I've really done nothing but ride, somebody made a suggestion to Mr. Dapper and I'm glad I made the Victory blog. The truth is, all of you could do it also, as I know you've got some story to tell that others would love to hear. Cometman, you need to be in the Victory mag as a centerfold! And Jeff (and Miles) Thanks for putting up with all the stuff through the years, four years, Wow! You guys run the hitching post well!!! You guys rock!! |

Some people would say that this many miles is somewhat insane. But personally I think its called finding sanity.
p.s. can I get an AMEN ! |

Just to let you know it's people like you that have helped me out tremendously, and I'm sure hundreds of others, on this forum!... I don't usually say much, but I do a lot of reading on here of all the wisdom that is shared about the Vision and you're definitely one of the ones on top of the list of pioneers... and for that I am grateful and Thank You for your dedication!.. |
