I know there have been threads on removing (not using) the POS stock antenna and adding a separate external one.  The thread in the tech section by VictoryVisionTour was an excellent example.  What I'm wondering, is could that process be used to mount an antenna on the trunk to get a uniform look on the bike?  I have the CB/Comm System so I'd be looking to add a second antenna on the other side.  Just not sure what all would be involved to make it look right or look as if it was a "stock" setup.  If this has been done, please let me know the link to the thread as I couldn't seem to locate it.

Also, seems that I read that the plug going into the radio is a standard automotive RCA plug...correct?  That said, then I could use a FM Direct Connect adapter and add on a portable Sat radio without any issues or added adapters.   Seem like an accurate statement?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

my 11 is Metal not plastic. when you lift the panel and look under it you can even see the alum as they didnt paint both side. and you can tap it and hear the "tinie" sound.

Yes, you can add a second CB antenna to the other side of the trunk and use it for an FM antenna. You can either use the CB cable and an SO239 to Motorola adapter, which just screws onto the PL259 connector on the end of the CB cable, or you can just use a standard FM cable with ring terminals to connect to the antenna on one end and the Motorola (not RCA) plug on the other end. You can either use another Victory branded CB antenna or just get the base, antenna, and cable at Radio Shack or other CB supply store. I haven't used one myself, but the FM Direct inline adapter should just plug in too. I'm referencing my 2008, but as far as I know, the 2010's hook up the same.

Do NOT waste your money on one of those splitters that supposedly let you use your CB antenna for CB and FM. I tried that and I could not get the SWRs on the CB to come back into range. Those splitters are designed to be used with ground plane antennas, and do work in that application (metal cars and trucks), but won't work with non-ground plane antennas such as used on fiberglass boats and our Visions.

My '11 is also metal. I did hear that they were going to switch to plastic at some point, either for the later production 11's or the '12s. Can anyone confirm this?
