| She is a 09 kingpin low, I am 5"1 125lbs, coming off a 650 vstar. Not quite flat foot on the KP. Test drive was a blast though. This bike to much for a little girl?

Posts: 185 Rhode Island | Don't know of any bike that will let you be flat foot; did the Vstar? The KPL is nice and a low CoG but man at 5'1" the weight of any big bike can be a bitch. I would probable recommend something 100-150lbs lighter. If this is the only bike that speaks to you and you decide to go with it, get boots with the tallest tread, the most solid engine guards you can find, and keep a 12" loop of 1/2" webbing to wrap around the passenger pegs to help lift it. You really have to pay attention to the grade where you are stopping as you already know; wrap the engine guards with something like a leather steering wheel cover to keep the scratching to a minimum, make sure you know how to pick up a bike if you don't already. The only real good option is a trike but I don't like the way they ride.
Good luck,
Jim

Posts: 83 Bolivar Missouri | At 5'5 I' am able to flat foot few rides . Do you feel comfortable on it ? Know your limitations and you will be fine . The bigger bike's are more dependable and handle much better on the highway's maybe even taking a road trip , power wise no one say's you have to use it . If you like it i say go for it and welcome IMHO to some of the best made rides out there . |

| ok... So yes, I test rode on a balmy 55 degree day last week, loved it, bought it, delivered to my home then it immediately started snowing or just being to cold... So I have been nervous as I look at her that I made the right choice, mostly from all the talking in my ear of oh my that's such a big bike and your so small. I know I will feel better once I can take her out again, spring can't arrive soon enough! She sure is pretty |

You shouldn't have any problems with this bike. My wife rides a CC fully loaded and she is 5'-4" tall. She found a good set of Redwing riding boots with 2" heals and that helps a lot. Unfortunately, redwing has stopped making MC boots. You might check out Leatherup.com for some good inexpensive boots.
She also picks the bike up by straightening the handlebars and grabbing the side of the tanl then lifts with her leg and arm.
Enjoy your new ride and be safe! |

Besides, the worst than can happen is it falls over, so? It's a machine, not the family crystal. If it bends a peg or snaps a lever you stick a new on on and hope for better luck next time. |
