I am seriously looking into upgrading from my venture to a vision. I love the venture but she dated and dam heavy. I have heard of issues with some older than 2010 but haven't heard what? I don't mind the whine from the tranny on the straight cut gears as I know from working around farms and tractors they are pretty much bullet proof. Finding a used vision around Indianapolis is rough and I don't need new. So from vision owners what are pros and cons and what issues? Thanks everyone and ride safe!

I've got an '08 still running like a top with over 100,000 miles on the clock. I don't think you'll go wrong with any low miler, any year. There were some improvements but they all ride the same.

Lonnie Dickens has 91000 miles on his 2008 ,I have a measly 31000 miles on my 2009 . I think you can not go wrong with any of them.

I bought my 2009 Ness Vision last April and have about 10k on it now. So much fun! It was the 2nd year of production and I've had ZERO issues. If you like it and the price is right BUY IT!

I have an 08 and I've had zero problems. I wouldn't take for it. I'm also 6'2" and she's 5'7" with no problems.

The stock windshield should give your pillion good protection if not there are taller windshields out there both from Ma Vic and Ceebailys

Do a search for a vision you might have to travel but you'll find one.
Swing by your victory shop and see if they can find one or will work on one you find. So you know for $25 bucks you can transfer any warranty to you
Before you know it the weight will be nothing

The only warranty work I've had done so far on my 09 was for the HID light ballast. All the other work was personal "wants"...stage one upgrade/PCV with auto-tune/cams/lighting.

So I say don't worry about getting a 09 Vision as long as it wasn't abused by the previous owner.

HID ballast replaced under warranty for my '09 also. They replaced the stereo unit also. Those are a common failure. I think in '10 they upgraded the unit. No other problems. Love it every time I straddle her. Can't say enough positive. Do not hesitate if you find a deal. If the lady is riding, I usually raise the windshield. Without her, I put it down. Still gives me great wind protection.

I guess the dealers can get factory demo bikes and they are priced really good. I have a dealer closer to me that is checking to see what is out there. I have found 2 09s and one is 13990 the other 14600. The dealer I stopped by today had a new 2011 at invoice of 17380 also. I still want a payment as low as Ali can to have other toys also.

The price for the 09 bikes seems great... Would these be OTD?

08's had a few issues. Mine had them. All were fixed under warrenty other than the poor radio reception. That cost me $50 to fix. As with almost any vehical no matter if it is a motorcycle, car, boat, the common deal is to buy as new as you can afford. I can tell you that I would buy another 08 Vision in a heart beat if the price was right, and if it was a newer one than that is even better. The new production problems were not a big issue. By now, most of the bikes out there have had the warrenty fixes done. If you find one you like you can take the VIN numbers to a Victory dealer and they can tell you if the recalls have been done. Doesn't really matter as these are free to have done anyhow.

What is a OTD? I have went to the maximum dealer in Peru, I did talk to the one in merriville at the international bike show in Chicago and they are real nice guys! I haven't talked to any victory dealers that have not been! I was doing a comparison on the 09 and the 2011 and seen the 2011 is heavier for some reason. I have asked a couple of dealers what I have to do to integrate my zummo 660 into it like I have been told you can but they don't know without doing some research.

I bought my 09 in April of 2010, within 6 months they replaced the radio twice and 'most' of the engine- seeped oil between the front jug and left casing- all under warranty. I recommend you get one that still has plenty of warranty on it, because if humans built it, it can break. My wife says she has no problems with wind, but she insists on having the trunk on for back support.

I have 46,000 on my '08. No major issues. My wife complains about the wind some but she won't wear more than a half helmet and glasses. Of course I could put on a taller windshield...

I have found that with the windshield down and a half helmet, I get a little buffeting but I'm OK with it. With a full face modular, I do not get any. I still usually raise it fully when the lady is behind me.

Thanks for the input! I never made the connection of out the door but that was plus taxes and adding 3 yrs to the wrty. The bikes are still new just factory demos and some were used by management and some for the demo semi that goes around. From what I'm learning you can get any of their models this wy including the ness models. Some may have some body damage on them from the demo rides were someone laid it down and some don't have a mark on them. I do bodywork and paint for living so odds are its going to get tore down and reprinted at some point a root beer color anyway.

Well from what I've learned over the years breathing causes cancer, as soon as you give up breathing your risks go way down! Lol!

I have an 08 with 18k+ miles and the only thing I have had done is the oil sensor replaced - dripped a little oil. I have added some farkles - l love the bike. in fact last sunday my brother, HD rider, and our wives took a ride to a local hamburger place. when we pulled in the parking lot was 90% bikes - there were some really nice looking HD's there I mean like show quality nice. We parked our bikes ordered lunch and sat at a table. My bike was about about 10' from where I was sitting. i bet in the 90 minutes we were there at least 8 guys looked at it and asked questions - 'how does it handle, do you hands vibrate in neutral...' the usual questions - made be feel proud [again] to have a Vision

Well the 09 got sold and I have put a deposit on a 2010 with over $4000 in chrome, intercom ,cb and a ness air box and the wind vents and I had them throw in the 5 yr wrty also. The bike is a demo and they put on some of the stuff to bling it up then I threw a offer I didn't expect them to accept. I am going to hopefully drive there this sat and check it out and finally ride one!
