When I bought my Vision they tried to sell me a Lojack for $1,200 to which I said no thanks. When I went in for my 500 mile service I asked how much for Lojack and they said $800 (sounds like the salesman and finance man were making $400) , so I had it installed. Last week Lojack contacted me and wanted to come inspected the installation (pretty impressive) they sent a tech out and he said the whole thing had to be reinstalled, when you picked up my seat there sat the Lojack unit, all a theif had to do is cut the power wire and it was useless, if you have one on your bike the unit is supposed to be installed where it can't be easily seen, under the seat is the first place they look. There should be no wire outside the wire enclosures and the unit should be hard to find. I am sure people who steal bikes know what the unit looks like. Hope this helps someone else.

the tech reported to Lojack, he came to my house, Lojack called me and asked when I could take it to the dealer ( very good people to work with ), they said they would handle everything with the dealer. I am taking it in this morning so I will let you know how it plays out

The Lojack tech came to the dealership and assisted in reinstalling the Lojack. This is a first class company. I can't find the unit now (maybe its not there?)

Having been through things being stolen in the past, I don't want back what some nitwit has stolen and bet up.
I do believe in spending money on keeping something from being stolen however. After it's gone, Lojack or not, it's usually abused and bruised and I rather have the insurance money.
