| Anyone have Progressive? If so, how do you like them? What has your claim experience been with them?
I have had State Farm for years, but they are killing me on yearly rates. Progressive is much cheaper for same coverage. Our agent has admitted that State Farm does not have comparible rates on bikes, so its time to change.
Clean record, no accidents.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks,

I have my bike with progressive but I wouldn't put my car with them! For what ever reason they don't mess around with the bikes but a car they will want stuff done that is a safety hazard and just plain not rite. They have a service in Cincinnati that you drop your car off and they send it to the cheapest bidder to be hacked and the customer doesn't have a clue! Not sure if they do that all over but watch out if they do! |

Posts: 460 Centennial, CO | I have progressive for my vehicles (all of them). I had a guy destroy (yes, DESTROY) my 1999 Honda Accord. I called at 3:45 in the morning, had a car (rental) waiting for me at 9am and a check ready for me the day that they called it totaled.
I am the rare exception that had a car I purchased for 4k and got a check for 8k. Rare I KNOW! But it did happen. I took the check, cashed it QUICKLY! Ha ha!
I didn't do much in the way of talking with the insurance company. I just let them handle everything and in the meantime I was looking for another car.
Overall, good experience for me. |

Posts: 204 West Knoxville TN | Always had good luck with Progressive. However, a few years ago they raised my rates and the reason on the letter was recent purchase of new auto. Now they raised all of the cars not just the new one. So I went to USAA and have been there happily ever since. My bike is insured with USAA who underwrites to progressive. |

| Thanks for all of the great input. Seems like the majority has had a good experience with the bike insurance. The best wisdom is from the horses mouth...Not Flow on TV. Thanks again. |

| A lady I work with has progressive for her car, she was in a accident, had nothing put trouble with progressive?? I have foremost bike insurance thru BOAT US. Several years ago a girl punted me at a stop sign, she didn't have insurance or a drivers lisence. $8300 damage to my jackpot. Three days after the adjuster looked at it. I was holding a $8000 check in my hand. |

Posts: 395 Moravia, IA | I HAD Progressive for everything.....cars and bikes. Then I had a claim on my minivan - in my opinion they valued my van unfairly and I wasnt impressed with the process. I dropped them on my cars and my bikes with full coverage and went to EMC.
All my older bikes with just liability are carried by Progressive......they were cheapest and we wont be arguing over value anyways.
I had a claim last year on my Vision thru EMC. Adjuster came out 2 days later.....authorized all repairs (it was at the dealer) and cut them a check. Bike went from unrideable hunk of twisted metal with 6K damage to new condition in 2 weeks.
They also were about $120 CHEAPER then Progressive on my Vision insurance.....which is odd because Progressive had them beat by a mile on the other bikes.

That is Progressive's concierge service; in what you are referring to. It's not mandatory; you can still pick where to take your car or truck to for repair. My wife's new Camaro was rear ended; they offered concierge to her but we opted for the dealer. They still paid the full amount. |

Posts: 48 Cicero, Indiana | I will say that with all the ins co it's up to the adjuster a lot on what they do and the area. One area maybe great and another could have some bad ones, kinda like anything else I guess. I have progressive on my vision I just got. I got two policy's in the mail and called my agent and she said they have had a decrease in jan that her computer didn't show. One was $500 the other is $380 I like the lower! I have extra coverage on the extra stuff so mines a little higher |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | i always shop around because when i moved to the suburbs of Pittsburgh progressive and geico wanted almost a 25% increase!! They both blamed it on population and greater chances of filing a claim. so i called state farm and the price difference was a No brainer. and its not like state farm doesnt have good service or anything. For me the price increase was all about population with the other 2. my driving record is spotless. |
