Posts: 825 , WI | Prepped and ready to cut. I'm cutting 2 inches off my standard height windshield. The 8-Ball windshield is great when it's hot but a little to low when it's cold or raining. The standard height windshield is too high when it's hot. I could buy a 2 inch lower windshild but I prefer the look of the 8-Ball windshield. I used the 8-Ball windshield for a pattern. If all goes well this should look like a taller 8-Ball windshield.

Thankfully, the stock Vision is adjustable, so no cutting was necessary on my factory short-shield - just another Vision + . |

| Nice work!-how did you do it? Using what tools and how to keep the windshield from flexing while cutting it etc. How did you finish the edges? |

Posts: 825 , WI | I used a jigsaw with a 12 TPI wood blade. After cutting I used a power "duel action" sander. I started with 50 grit emery cloth to remove any waves. Then I switched to 150 and then 220. To finish I used 400 grit in a hand block sander. After sanding I wiped the edge with acetone. The rag should be wet BUT don't let any acetone drip on the windshield. I do not tape or cover the windshield. I put the soft side of Velcro on the Jigsaw and just follow the line drawn on the windshield. |

Took the bike for a ride and for me it is perfect and it still has the 8-Ball look. |

| Nice I have been cutting windshields for every and you did it the way I have always done them.
The finer the sand paper on the top edge gets the great finish that we look for.
I have read where company's use cork to polish the the top edge. I have never remember to buy some.
Like my Dad and I'm sure yours always said measure twice and cut once
