Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | I found that if you use the browser google chrome you can create a route using google Maps, and then if you go to the android market you can install a app call google chrome (phone extention) it will send the map you created directly to your cellphone.. BUT here is where i need help.....
i created a route i want to ride (with a group) and i planned it out to be just about 150 miles. But when i send this map to my android cellphone it then calculates the Fastest route from start to finish and does NOT follow the route i created using the desktop version of Google maps...
Does anyone know how to make the android google maps Follow the route i created, which Out trying to get me from start to finish as fast as possible... |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | when you create a MULTI stop map on google map on your computer then transfer it to your phone the phone wants to avoid multi stops and get your from your START to your FINISH the fastest way possible. even if it was Not the route you wanted... i did some messing around with it today. im getting closer... on google maps (desktop) you add it to your MY PLACES.. then you can access your MY PLACES from google maps (android).. =) |

Posts: 880 Orlando, FL | Arkanize, I use MapQuest Classic. Just type "classic.mapquest.com" into your browser. (The online classic version is the older version but it's easier to use for me) Register (it's free). Once you register and have it on your phone everything moves back and forth automatically!!
I can create my route on my PC at home and it automatically shows up on my MapQuest app for my iPhone. They have an android app too. And anything I save on my phone shows up on my internet account. It's free and while the voice navigation is a little slow at times, it works for the most part.
Usually I just request driving directions from the beginning point to the end point. Mapquest pops up a route and then by simply moving the route lines I create the custom route I want. Then just save it and you're done!
They have a new "Route Planner" that lets you put in up to 25 stops! I haven't tried that one yet, but sounds nice. It will plan the route for the fastest or the shortest route.
I wish that Motion X Drive GPS would allow the same thing as they have a better app, but so far no such luck.
Hope that helps!!
