When I go on a road trip I like to stop at bike shops to see what's new and sometimes pick up another shirt for my collection. Here's the deal. I can't find a cool Victory Shirt! I just ruined my Volusia Motorsports shirt (which wasn't too bad) and now I'm on the hunt :-)
I like the V w/ the wings but come on, let's lose the "Polaris". I've had Polaris ATVs for years and love them but I honestly don't want my bike thought of as an ATV "spin-off". You also can't believe how many folks think that Polaris is Canadian :-) How about replacing the Polaris in that logo with a simple U.S.A. !!!
Victory got the heritage factor with the purchase of Indian (I'm loving that & I can't wait to see what the engineers come up with) but PLEASE don't make a Polaris-Indian t-shirt..LOL
I did go to the Victory (uh, I mean.....Polarisindustries) web site and didn't see anything interesting. They have some great new "poser" shirts with the proverbial biker skulls but nothing that appeals to me.
Ideas anyone???

| Good Luck with this one....Harley blows all the competition away with the huge mass marketing of clothing/accessories for their products....Into the billions each year I am told..No wonder for what the charge for the stuff...But as Will Rogers used to say"there is a sucker born everyday".....

Posts: 880 Orlando, FL | Orbit, I could not agree more. Perhaps we need an e-mail campaign to the President, CEO, and CFO? I cannot believe they expect to compete with Harley and insist on placing POLARIS on my bike. I hate it!! Who are these maketing people? Are they clueless? It's like buying a Hatteras Yacht (one VERY expensive boat!!) and seeing AMF on the label! Yes, AMF owns Hatteras and even owned Harley from 69-81. But I don't see them putting a label associated with bowling on these products.
Victory will never really make Harley shake in their boots as a motorcycle company with a snowmobile company on the logo!!
God forbid if Preparation H ever bought out Polaris and put it's name on every company they own! Victory - A Preparation H Company~ Now that would be some logo! Would the wings go above the ass or below it?

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Really? what do these threads really accomplish? Polaris has been part of the Victory logo from day one. Polaris has carried Victory while Victory couldn't stand on it's own. I really don't see the beef and why do folks think we need to have Harley shaking in their boots. What will make Harley shake in their boots is when the Victory riders quit whinning about what Polaris/Victory does and get out and ride. I wonder how many Victory riders understate the brand because of trival stuff that doesn't amount to anything? I like to the see faces blown away when I tell folks how many maintenancce free miles I have, or how long I enjoy sitting in the saddle. Who gives a rat patootie if Polaris is on the logo? That's the same kind of thinking Harley has, is it the sticker is all that matters? That's brain-washing, brand loyality for the sake of the name no matter how crappy the product it is. I could care less if there is no Victory logo on the bike, if folks want to know what it is, I can tell them. If you care that much about the logo, get a tattoo minus the Polaris name...

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | Chris, the concerns arise from those of us that LOVE our brand and want to represent it. It is NO fun to walk around with a Timberland shirt at a rally looking like a tourist. Like Orbit, I don't want Polaris apparel, but rather Victory specific and more than a few items to chose from. |

Posts: 249 Phenix City AL. | Think outside the box, go to all our vendors website and see what they have, most are selling shirts, they are the ones who are putting victory on the map, or attend as many rally as you can, you will always get a cool shirt then. How about the local chapter shirts from thevmc chapters, not trying to plug another site, just pointing in a direction. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I don't know what the fix is. I have a few Victory shirts that I like, and I'll sport them, but most of the time my vest covers them so I say, "what's the point." I'm in the airport and I'm amazed at the number of Harley shirts, and even bags that I see, but I beg the question "Why?" Well, maybe a near 100 year history says something. I believe in brand recognition, but word of mouth is still the top mover of any product. So to all who want to see Victory get ahead, don't lament the lack of dealer networks, highlight the maintenance free miles. I don't need the logo to tell someone how great the machine is. And by the way, Polaris has a strong reputation in the industry for reliability, thankfully, they passed that along to Victory. So I'm glad there is that association, most say "Victory, what's that?" But when I say Polaris, they can relate on the dependability. If we stay on the positive, the rest will follow. And the thought came to me just now, cover that timberlake shirt with the Victory vest, or jacket, just saying...

| I don't understand Victory's position on clothing, when you buy branded clothes you're in effect paying the manufacturer to advertise his product. |

Posts: 880 Orlando, FL | Victory is just not very savy when it comes to marketing. Shirts, hats, do-rags, having Polaris on the Logo (sorry varydar it's just poor marketing) and more. I can't tell you how many V Twin owners (HD and others) have the impression that my ride is done by Ness. (I have a Vision 8 Ball). When I bought my bike Victory even sent me a letter offering me accessories that did not exist for my bike........like a quick release passenger backrest!! Is it that hard to send buyers mail related to the model they purchase, not just generic crap for any model?
These are little things that work wonders. And I can't help but wonder why Vic is missing the boat. Yes, adding Gunny was a good thing, but there s so much more they could do and the cost to do it is minor in the overall scheme of things.

I know it is not an arguement I'll ever win. Brand recognition comes from inundation of the name to the point people buy into that. Through the years I don't recall seeing Polaris' name everywhere, but some how I've associated it with dependability in any of their products. I'm not a snow-mobiler, or an ATV enthusiast, but if I was to be, Polaris would be the brand. I just chuckle that we, us who use the product, lament over the fact we don't have a cool t-shirt like the other guys have, yet Polaris/Victory says they are doing just fine with numbers in the black. That's a lot more to be said about the company that puts their logo on baby cloths and still come out in the red. Maybe they are in the wrong line of work. Let me say one more thing; I didn't know ANYTHING about Victory and didn't even really like the styling. I was riding an older gold wing and I stopped in the "motorcycle shop" to but gloves and other like stuff. I would walk in and walk out, but I begain to inquire about the bike because they were a Polaris company. It was the Vision article I read in February 2007 that sent me to buy my Vision 10 months later, not a T-Shirt. I think with Indian also, Polaris has the backing that will make people trust the quality and that alone will bring Indian back to a strong competitor in the market place and further boost the sales of Victory. Polaris is a lot smarter than what we think, they focus on the real important stuff. T-shirts wear out, their products last. (hey, another moto = "T-shirts wear out, our products last! Polaris/Victory/Indian".)

Posts: 1308 Sand Rock, AL United States | I didn't fully read all the posts so I'm sorry if someone already posted this but I wanted to tell Orbit that Victory is addressing the "motorclothes" issue. The Vice President of Victory announced at the Victory ride and lunch at Daytona that they have just hired a clothing division team. You should have heard the crowd, they went nuts with applause and cheering. To which he replied that he realized that it had taken a while to respond but they had heard our cries for some cool clothing . I was given the impression from that meeting that we will see some awesome clothing and gear coming soon. |

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | On weekends, I ride in a Vision-Riders shirt. If it is a special ride I break out my Vision Pilot shirt.
For poker I have a few Victory and other mechanics shirts.
One Victory shirt I own is a cream colored button down with a black vertical stripe on the left side and the word Victory has glitter in it. That is one for the cruise ship or when I pack hardware in a belt holster.
Maybe I need to post a picture of it. Reading the description I wrote does not conger the shirt I have in the closet. Oh my, now I have a closet reference. I should just quit writing now.

Fountain Inn, SC United States | First, thanks for the pro-Vision-Riders sentiment. Anything that supports the site is greatly appreciated.
Second, I've talked to Victory marketing about a bunch of things, one being the state and offerings of the Polaris/Victory accessory/apparel site. The PG&A (parts, garment & accessories) division has become aware of the site's shortcomings and hope to be building it out more in the near future. In fact Polaris just recently announced the hiring of Steve Eastman, former president of Target.com, to lead its PG&A business.
So hang in there, I'm sure we'll see a greater selection over then next year. |

P.S. I have the large Vision-Riders sticker in red on the back window of my truck.

LMAO.....good one Trek.
I have a couple Vic t-shirts, but I guess it just doesn't bother me that Victory's apparel marketing department sucks. I just thought it was funny how some folks got so passionate about t-shirts. |
