... or whatever you want to call it...

There are several others who have suggested it, so I will start the thread...

When and where should it be?

The floor is yours..

WEll I am new to this board and I have a New Black Cherry Vision. I know it may not be that central a location but Michigan has some great riding roads so I would be willing to help host a rider get together. let me know of any interest in being up north, Archie

Jason - We had a small "rally" here in AZ during AZ bike week, had about a dozen Vision Pilots. I would be up for promotion of a designated date and place for the future.

I guess my thoughts are to get maximum attendance it needs to be somewhat centrally located in the States, ie Colorado. We probably need to set up a poll to see how much real interest there is, form a small committee and go from there. Lets see how much interest comes from this thread, and see if it materializes.

I think it would be a real fun thing, can you imagine, a hundred of these space ships converging on some town. And, guys like Pollopoot dropping his bike in the parking lot. WAAAhOOOOo

I agree it would need to be centrally located and Colorado is pretty central and has some of the best roads in America. Fergy and I have ridden them many times and we could help with creating some great ride routes.  There are some places there that will stick in your memory for a life time and beyond.

There's always the AVR in Spirit lake, IA in August. That's about as central as you can get. It's also a good chance to recruit other Vision riders.

..And you get to tour the factory where the bike is made.
..And there's music.
..And there's Lloyd w/his dyno.
..And there's vendors with accessories

..And I hope to be there (now that's the best reason!).

Colorado would be good.

I'm seeing a hundred-bike synchronized drop. . .and YouTube stars forever! (Just kidding )

But seriously, could you imagine a hundred Visions rolling into town at the same time? THAT would be something to see.

We would love to be involved in a big Vision get together. Can't do it this summer due to previous commitments but will be there next summer for sure!

I'm in Colorado, west of Denver, elevation 7900', pine trees and mtns all around. I've ridden most of the roads in Colorado, and would love to share them with other Vision Pilots. Let's make it happen...I'll contribute as much as I can for arrangements, rides, etc. Just please don't make it the 1st half of August, as we're off on our ride to Washington state, Vancouver Island, BC, AB, and Montana. Suggest no earlier than mid-June, no later than very early September, due to residual or new snow at the highest of elevations on some of the best roads to ride.

There is a rally just a little north of Denver (in Loveland) over Labor Day weekend, called Thunder in the Rockies. Also the Four Corners Rally in Durango in the southwest corner of the state, also over Labor Day weekend. Either would be good to pair a Vision get together with, similar to the AZ Bike Week gathering of Vision riders.

For those of you that are political, the Democratic National Convention is in Denver the last 1/2 of August....we could make national news by "crashing" the convention with a hundred of our space ships. Oh wait, my wife works for the Sheriff's Dept, and she would NOT be happy if she could not also participate!

Seriously though guys, I could put together a number of days of killer rides from a central location that would make your eyes pop out! Mt. Evans has the highest paved road in North America at over 14,200' elevation, and it is less than 20 miles from my house. Rocky Mtn National Park has Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous road in North America at over 12,500' elevation. There is Independence Pass (back way into Aspen), with knock out views, some of the largest aspen trees (diameter, height, and number) you'll see anywhere, there's 1880s towns converted into gambling towns (Blackhawk, Central City, Cripple Creek), ski areas hosting numerous music festivals (Aspen, Telluride, Winter Park, the list goes on), and I'm just getting started!!!

LET'S DO IT!!!!!

Colorado is great... lots of nice roads... but if you're from Alabama.. or Florida... or New York, it's not very central...

IMO, we should have a stand alone event and not coincide with any other event... That's just my opinion... I also think we should try to see how many groups have done an Iron Butt... and try to set a worlds record for simultaneous Iron Butts.... .. Now THAT would get us on the front page of the Victory Newsletter..

Having spend most of my life in Colorado(Colo Spgs) I can share your enthusiasm for how great the ride choices are. Still have several friends in Genese. Independence pass, coming from Salida to Aspen is one of my favorites, also, who wouldn't go bonkers riding the Million Dollar Highway. I sure we could go on and on but in all my travels 2 up we still have those Colo rides on top of the favorites. Oh, from your place to Vail and thru Glenwood Canyon, Glenwood Springs, and into Aspen isn't the worst choice for a ride.

I'm obviously partial, but only because of the spectacular riding. Also agreeing with some others I would really like to see it as a Vision riders rally, opposed to part of another rally.

Anyway, I'm in and would be glad to help coordinate.

Absolutely amazing, today I was talking to a friend about doing a short (two day) ride up to the Colorado area sometime in the near future (lucky him, he is working his LAST day this week). I would certainly vote for a Vision Rally in that area. LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!

I like the idea of an anual event. It would be good to change the locations year after year. Colorado or other central location is fine with me. Hopefully there is enough interest for this to really happen. Maybe we should try to get Victory to host some type of hospitality tent or event.

I like the AVR idea myself...........and the date and place is already set. There are many things to do that are "Victory" related and vendors are present to support our passion. It's in Iowa which is in the middle of the country. Maybe we should set up group rides from several locations that all meet up in Spirit Lake. That may offer everyone the best solution. Just a thought.

I think next year is what would work best. Like you, I have a pretty full dance card for this year, and I think for planning purposes people almost need a years notice for something to have full participation and on the calendar for consideration.
