| I am looking for a trunk rack for my 2011 vision. Does anyone know of an alternitive rack than the OEM victory. The rack that victory offers is way to expensive for what it is. I would appreciate any info. Thanks |

Several of my HD friends have custom racks but none paid more than 225.00 and to be honest the quality is outstanding. And the factory HD rack is 125.00 or so depending on where you buy it. I don't understand it either. |

Posts: 53 Gotha, FL | I also have a black powder coated wing V rack from CycleOps which looks great on my 2011 Silver/Black Vision and works great. Everyone comments on how good it looks and compliments the Vision. Quite honestly, I wish all you people would quit your pissin and moanin about how expensive everything is from Victory. Everything I have bought so far is good quality and I have gotten what I paid for. If you want cheap crap for your bike you should have bought something else... If you didn't do your research before buying and didn't know how expensive accessories were too bad for you. You buy a top of the line touring bike and then expect vendors are just going to roll over on their backs for you and make cheap accessories. They won't cause the Vision accessories are only going to be made in small numbers since there are so few of them in the market place. Go back to school and learn BUS 101. |

| I'm happy that you feel 499.00 is a good price for a trunk rack, some of us simply disagree. |

Posts: 53 Gotha, FL | Its not that I'm happy about the 499.00 price but I knew it was 499. when I bought the bike. All I'm saying is that I get tired of reading so many threads on here where evryone takes a shot at the vendors charging what they do. If you or I went through the capital outlay to start a business and then do the design, manufacturing, marketing and delivery of a product to a very limitied marketplace I am positive we would want top dollar for our product as well. Look at Wil from Cycleops as an example. He has a storefront business for walkins. Then he has cad design equipt., fabricating equipt. for cutting and grinding, all the tooling, subcontractors for powdercoating and chroming(they operate for a profit as well), then he operates a website for his marketing to move his product. From what I read here we expect Wil to produce a high quality part for a market that might buy a couple hundred of what he produces and we want it for 125 to 150 at tops. None of the vendors we have making items for the Vision world would stay in business very long at that rate. We would only have cheap azz parts from China to choose from. |

| EGA, I did go through the capital outlay to start a business, property and all. I simply believe they would better serve the market and themselves if their racks were more inline with other bikes prices.
Cometman, yours is very much the exception but I do think that's one hell of a nice trunk rack. |

That's the whole point...the Vision community does not have quality vendors that can bring their prices in line like other vendors do for mass marketed bikes that outnumber Visions 400 to 1. We aren't like other market and we are fooling ourselves to think we can get custom made parts for cheap. We can get cheap parts for cheap. Heck, the entire Victory lineup is only 3 to 6% of the market depending on whose numbers you want to believe against manfacturers like HD that are what??? 85% plus of market share. Everything made for us is custom to some degree.
BTW..thanks for taking the risk to start a business...I sincerely hope you are outrageously sucessful at what you do. |

| I agree with your point that we do not have the mass market vendors but if you want to get your product out there you sometimes have to buy market share. And in my experience volume goes a long way towards survivability.
And thanks for your well wishes. |
