I am debating on 2 motorcycles and looking for advice.
I currently have a vtx1300c.
I have test ridden a victory vision at 1 dealership, but have 2 different dealers with 2 different offers.

1.2011 brand new for $18,500

2.2012 brand new for same price, but this one is having a test ride thing coming up where I can get a certificate for anywhere from $500-$1000 toward price of bike or accessories(plan was to use it on gps setup).

So here's the question?
What's the difference between the 2?
I know the. 2012 will have better resale value down the road, but I, not buying the bike with plan of selling it.
I'm hearing that the 2011 have better options and accessories than the 2012. Only problem is that dealer with the 2011 is not having the test ride thing and I won't be able to take advantage of $500-$1000 certificate.

Looking forward to feedback.

You should be able to take the certificate to ANY dealer and apply it to the bike.  The certificate is from Victory/Polaris and the only requirement is that of a 2 week window after riding the bike.  Now I'm making an assumption that you are doing the Victory Demo truck, demo ride.  I rode at one dealer during the "Fuel It" demo, and took my cert. to a different dealer that had the bike I wanted.  Perhaps what you are talking about is different.

Does the 2011 have ABS.  All 2012s do.  Which one has your favorite color scheme?

2011 is silver/black---looks really good
2012 is black with a little silver....but he's got to find me one to be able to sell it to me.
Both look really good.

Not sure what the test ride event is called, but I'm gonna check and see if '11 dealer will honor.
Not sure about abs---- I think so.

yes the 2011 has abs as all vic baggers in 2011 come standard with abs, and yes the 2011 has more chrome than the 2012 but both are great bikes and it comes down to wetheryou want to wait for the pne dealer to find and get the bike in or you want to take the certificate to the other dealer and get out and ride. I have a 2011 but have looked at and rode the 12 and have found no difference in the ride or handling.

I have had both bikes, and the reason the 12 is lower priced, the handlebars are painted and the tip overs are no longer chrome. The HID light in the center is now halogen, but doesn't seem to be any difference from the drivers point of view, just a lot cheaper to replace. I don't know any other differences. I do think that my 12 has just a little more power off the line than my 11 had, but you can take any 2 of the same bike and find a difference. I would buy the one that I like the best, as far as resale value, I don't think there will be any difference between the 2.
