Has any one had an issue with the kick stand spring breaking? I have a 2011 (11 months old) and the spring broke while we were out for a short trip I was able to use a bungee cord to keep it up for the day. Warranty not warranty?

Some posts earlier about bent kickstands on 2011 Visions...I have not noticed it on my Vision yet and will "pitch-a-bitch" to the dealer if it happens...You should be able to get it fixed under warrranty...I certainly hope so....Have not heard of or seen any posts about spring breaking as yet.....

Happened all the time on the TC. I always kept some small bungees for kickstand springs.

My spring is shot. It stays up when up, but that spring is not "springy" anymore. How much can a spring really cost and how hard can it be to replace anyway? Seems like it could be a quick Lowes or Home Depot fix anyway.

I painted the kickstand on my 08 black and replaced the spring with a chrome one. $20. It is a five minute job.

i personally wouldnt bother with a warranty claim to have your bike sit at the dealer.. just get a spring and be done with it. unless your dealer is willing to have you come in and take care of it right then and there. (if dealer is close) btw you can install the spring yourself using pennies OR dimes.. bend the spring back and forth, each time putting a penny or dime in the gap. this will stretch the spring which makes it alot easier to install withOut the need for special tools.. i did this years ago with a center stand spring.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but this question is sort of on point. I need to swap my Hammer kickstand with my Vision stand. Same part number. Are they hard to remove/install? Its the spring I worry about. Pennies? Wouldn't Morgan Silver Dollars be faster?
