We all know its off a lot and we think bank ones are right. Wrong more bank one are off.

If you pull your aluminum top panel off and with a flash light look be hind the left hand mirror.

You'll see a back wire that looks like its running to the mirror. Thats your temperature gauge wire

and pick up. With a long skinny flat blade screw driver pop the metal terminal off the back side of the mirror.

Now I used a long needle noise pliers and gentle poled one side of the wire then the other. As you see the wire is wedged in a slot.

Now wrap the wire around the over flow tube under the left hand tank and wire tie off.

Check my temp gauge now with five different smart phones I'm right on or with in one degree. You can laugh at the banks and

the Harley's that are not even close.

I did the same thing, to get the sensor out into the clear air stream - but - I think mine still reads too hot.

Good idea. Now if someone can find a way to fix it below 32 when it constantly reads -4.

Will this work for the gear sensor?

Good post, did this when doing some other maintenance and just as advertised.... Right on the money. I mounted mine a little higher up in the fork area but have checked it day, night, damp, rain, dry and on the money or within 1. Also getting a better read while riding now, on average drops about 3-4 degrees while moving since I done it. Obviously, its cold out still lol... Thanks Johnny!
