Posts: 804 Perry Hall, MD | As a reminder June 18th is Ride To Work Day. Those in my office riding HDs are going to try and get them running in time to be able to participate (true story).

It isn't often that I don't, but unless the weather is perfect I usually don't see other bikers to wave to. I will have to admit that the Vision has totally changed my opinion on riding in below 40 weather conditions.

My answer was, "Freezing rain when it's below freezing out." That's an honest answer. |

Posts: 188 Tifton, GA | Well I am on vacation till the end of June and then will be retired I rode to work in cold, heat, and rode home in the rain too. I didn't and don't plan to ride if chance of ice on the road. To many good days to ride in south GA to push my luck. Will ride to the gym to workout on June 18. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | I refuse to ride in the snow/ice. It's not safe in my cage so it's damn sure not safe on 2 wheels. With that said, I tend to ride any day that's above about 40*F. I could probably do a bit under that as I added a fairing to my Nomad but not by much and still be comfortable. I keep hearing Vision riders talking about comfortably riding well under 40* (and down into the teens). Is there really that much relief from the weather? (Don't hate me. I don't own one...yet.) I also don't tend to ride in the rain on purpose. How is the rain protection? |

Posts: 97 Okeefenokee Swamp | I am fortunate enough to live in a part of the country where we get snow only once every 20 years and the temp is rarely below 30 degrees. South Eastern Georgia is a great place to live and ride with easy access to the North Georgia Mountains and the beach. I do however, ride all over the U.S. I dont mind if it is raining when I start out,my rain gear works quite well. And most of all, I love to ride. I can not put into words how much I love it.

Posts: 188 Tifton, GA | Monkeyman the Vision weather protection is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than I had on my Electria Glide. I rode in 23 degrees about 2 months after I got Liandra. Riding in 55 to 60 I only wear a windbreaker and thin gloves. A Vision is very good in the rain too. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | 55-60* I'm still in a t shirt. I'll put on a light jacket when it gets down below about 50*. I currently ride an '07 Nomad with an E Glide fairing so I'm familiar with how the E Glide fairing protects. (Meaning, I can make the comparison.) If it's better than the E Glide, I can see getting into a bit of trouble as I'm not sure freezing temps will stop me like they do now (especially with heated grips and seat). I'm still not getting out there on purpose in snow/ice. As I said, I don't purposely ride in the rain but if I'm out somewhere and it starts to rain, I'm not stopping except to put my rain suit on.
Thanks for the info. |
