Posts: 174 Edmonton, AB | Hey guys, I have a question that I'm hoping some of you can provide some input and info. I am 5'8" with average arm length and I have often wished that the bars on my 2008 Vision were back a little closer so my arms are not "stretched out" so far when leaning back against my backrest (...read, wife), especially on longer rides when we are going non stop between gas stops. I recently noticed these Vision 2" pullback bars as an option that might help.

So here are my questions...Has anyone here installed these? We're you happy with them? How "sturdy" do they feel compared to the stock bars? How much difference did it make in comfort for longer rides? Did you have any problems getting enough slack in the wires, cables, etc. for the extra 2 inches of length on the bars? Any other info or feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks for any info or help that you can provide. |

Posts: 307 Columbia, SC | I'm 5'4", and I hear ya about the stretched arms. However it seems to me that a good solution would be a driver's utopia backrest. More back support, and it can push you 2 inches forward. And its' a whole lot less expensive. Plus, I have YET to hear someone complain about a backrest being uncomfortable. Everyone seems to love 'em.

| I have Hmd 2" pullbacks. I'm 5'7" and also have the Victory backrest and Ness seat which is 1" lower. Got them for the same reason, to stretched out. I had them installed by dealer. Way more comfortable, no numb fingers, sit way back, like in a easy chair. Bars seem sturdy, wires and cables reach no problem. When I first got them I wasn't sure I liked them because I was so used to the stock bars, but got used to them very quickly and love them. The only downfall I found is the bars when turned all the way to right or left, touch the center console which I had painted black, and slightly chip paint. Still love them and wouldn't go back. They definetely will work for what your looking for. You could call Mike at HMD he is awesome and is happy to answer any and all questions. Good luck. Ride safe. |

Posts: 174 Edmonton, AB | Gottavision, thanks for the info. That will help in my decision. Also good to hear positive feedback on the vendor from a previous customer.
Which of the options did you choose for the end caps? |

Posts: 174 Edmonton, AB | Alexi, I thought about that as well but not seriously considering a backrest at this point. Most of my riding is with my co-pilot on back and I kinda like being able to lean back and use her as my "backrest". My favouirite position to ride is feet stretched out to the front of the floorboards, butt slid forward in the seat and leaned back against my "backrest". I can get really comfortable like that, except for the arm stretch...that's why I'm looking for options on the bars. |

| Say why not take a peace of board like plywood put it behind you and take a ride and see if a back reat would work |

They are sending me a set to JBweld in myself this week. Another option is a set of compression type bar ends if you want to re use your stock grips. |

I don't know how long ago you did your bars but hmd stopped putting the insert in the end to use the stock grips. Your dealer may have got an expansion bar end insert and used the inside portion to use the old bar ends. |

Put on 2 months ago. Dealer never mentioned anything. Maybe he did something to make it work. Don't know. |
