I know the subject about the ipod cable has been brought up many times on this sight.
I just started to use my new Android phone on my 08 Vision, playing my downloaded songs, using the stock aux. cable.
It would play a few songs, then start to skip through several songs and not play at all.
I contacted a local dealer, who "reflashed" my radio.
It still does this.
Could this be caused by the stock cable ?
Another dealer told me the new cable part # 2877894 would correct this.
Is that new cable designed for only ipods or will it work for my Android phone as well ?
As anyone knows, to plug into this phone, I need to have that 3.5mm end on the cable.
Thanks for any input !

All your doing is using the headphone jack on the phone, no different than if you were using headphones, the phone doesn't know the difference. That sounds like an issue with the phone and not the bike. The iPod cable is just that for the iPod (or iPhone) specifically and only works with that. To my knowledge these are the only 2 cables you can get (headphone or iPod).

Quick question on the droid, my iPhone has the ability to "shake" to change tracks, is there something similar on the Droid? You may be hitting some bumps or vibrations and changing tracks, or bumping a button or something on the phone that is causing the tracks to change, the radio shouldn't have anything to do with it using the 3.5mm cable. I have my old cable from my 2011 if your interested but really I don't think it will matter (but I've been wrong before so...)

The cable is not your problem.....look at your phone, something wrong there.

The interesting thing about this is when I use the phone in my cars, playing back my downloaded songs, it plays fine.

wjoel. The auxiliary cable is a one way cable - it doesnt interface with your bike.

All it does is take the sound that comes out of your headphone jack and play it over your speakers - there is no way for the bike to control or interface with your phone over it.

Now Im not saying some other part of your phone is affected by the bike......maybe it doesnt like the heat (being in direct sunlight) or the vibration.

All Im saying is that cable merely "takes" a signal from the phone.....it doesnt send or control your phone in any way.

I have always had problems with my Android phone playing downloaded songs. Try Pandora, Slacker Radio, or Janga and see if it still does it. I prefer Slacker and Pandora, they seem to work the best for me.
