| Has anyone had as much trouble with their Vision??? It started with the first day when I tore my achillies tendon off my right heal trying to pick it up from the fall over protection. I've never used the right side pick up bar but somehow the frame for it got broken. It's a one piece frame that both pick up handles bolt to and both bags have to come off to replace it. And guess what??? The extended maint. pkg won't cover it!! You will be interested that if you have a bad seal on the forks and they leak fork fluid all over your brake pads, they won't pay for the brake pads and replacement either.... I found that out too. All this and I don't even have 5000 miles on it yet. The other problems.... it uses what I consider to be an abnormal amount of oil, about 1 quart per 2000 miles. Also, the front wheel has a really slow leak. I think its due to the cast wheel. Now I have to replace the front tire.... again, with less than 5000 miles. I had trouble with the digital display going dark but it seems to have fixed itself! And one last thing.... it's almost impossible to get this thing into neutral and often times, I have to start it up to get it to go into neutral. What a battle!
I would not recommend this Victory or any other model to anyone. I feel that I'm stuck with a LEMON!!!
A VERY EXPENSIVE LEMON.! |

Seemed like everything that could have gone wrong went wrong with his. He finally threw in the towel and got a Harley. I always wondered what happened to that bike....... |

Posts: 262 Flowery Branch Ga | I, too, have a 2010 Vision that I bought new in Sept. of '10. Hasn't seen a shop or maintenance since 2500 miles. Literally the only thing done to it oil changes by me, tires, and added heated grips. I have almost 16,000 miles. Too bad you are having such bad luck.

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | 2008 Vision bought new. 35,000 trouble free miles except for the Pontiac that plowed me at a light and totaled it. Replaced it with another 2008 with 18,000 miles. Just hit 46,000 and the only problem was the throttle body adapter replaced under extended warranty.
Sorry you got a "Friday" bike. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | tjgood - 2012-07-06 7:20 PM Has anyone had as much trouble with their Vision??? I will not try to change your mind in your choice of a motorcycle, but I feel this is a loaded post. This is not trouble with the bike, but the way it is handled. Sorry for your injury. No one can warn you how not to pick up the bike if you are not aware how to do it and no one else is there to help. Sometimes in our haste we make waste. I hope the bike gets fixed with minimal cost to you and that I hope you heal quickly. You will be interested that if you have a bad seal on the forks and they leak fork fluid all over your brake pads, they won't pay for the brake pads and replacement either.... I found that out too. All this and I don't even have 5000 miles on it yet. I don't fully understand this post, but this sounds like a warranty issue, assuming it is a newer bike still under warranty. Sure, a few dollars for brake pads should not be a big deal for someone who has just bought a $20,000 motorcycle, they are normal wear items. The other problems.... it uses what I consider to be an abnormal amount of oil, about 1 quart per 2000 miles. If new, this is a warrany issue also. that is excessive, I wonder why you don't get this fix Also, the front wheel has a really slow leak. I think its due to the cast wheel. Now I have to replace the front tire.... again, with less than 5000 miles. This is starting to sound like a rant. Why do you think it is because of the cast wheel? And why are you replacing the tire again? Not enough information to go on. I had trouble with the digital display going dark but it seems to have fixed itself! I don't know what year your bike is, but your dash should be covered under warranty also. Folks have had their entire display replaced because one LED light didn't work. And one last thing.... it's almost impossible to get this thing into neutral and often times, I have to start it up to get it to go into neutral. What a battle! Again, a rant. I don't know you but this one alone makes the entire post look silly. I would not recommend this Victory or any other model to anyone. I feel that I'm stuck with a LEMON!!! A VERY EXPENSIVE LEMON.! Patience will go a long way to get everything in order if you will give it a chance. While you may disassociate yourself from Victory motorcycles because of this experience, there will remain thousands that are completely and totally satisified with there purchase. I wish you well in whatever you decide. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Here's the Paul Harvey version of the story: I went into a turn too hot and hit a curb. I bent my front rim so now my tire leaks and I blew out my fork seals. The curb hit the bottom of the motor so now it leaks oil. I don't know how to properly pick up a bike by using my legs so I ruptured my achilles tendon in the process. (That was after the pickup bar somehow broke off.) I can't find neutral to save my life. My dealer won't cover any of this under warranty. VICTORY SUCKS!

The cast wheel of my HD leaks, so I put a tube in it and it works just fine. |

Posts: 122 Westchester Co., NY | I purchased mine with about 650 miles on it at the end of last riding season. I have put another 5000 on it since then. No problems at all. But it reminds me of a ride I did a couple of months ago. A guy pulled up on his Cross Country and did nothing but complain about how crappy Victorys are. For proof he showed that whenever he put his sidecover on the bike would stall. A friend and I took our tools out out and within a few minutes figured out which wire was exposed and shorting when touched. We put on a piece of electrical tape and reinstalled the cover. The bike was fine. While we worked on the bike all the owner did was complain about all the problems he has had with the bike, about how his dealer was the worst ever (a dealer with the highest reputation in the area) and about how unreliable his past bikes were (a Honda and a Yamaha). When all was said and done the guy was too busy complaining to even give us a thanks. While it is entirely possible that the above bike is a lemon I do wish for more info. |

Posts: 104 ROCHESTER,NY | Not for nothin, tj. Call the, State Attorney Generals Office. Tell them your plight. It sounds like you did buy a "LEMON". It will take some time, and that sucks! But call the A.T. The wife and I had problems with both Harley Davidson, and G.M. Now, JUST SAYIN, if all your problems with the bike, are truly not from neglect in any way. The A.T. will help with this matter. For about a year now I have been on this site and haven't seen these gripes about the V.or any other Victory. It dose happen, any manufacture can and WILL produce a " LEMON" . And because you ended up with it, dose not mean you have to keep it. CALL THE A.T. for your state.

Posts: 33 Georgia | I purchased a 2012 VVT 3 weeks ago and although I love the bike I also have had a few issues. The radio display was blank in the center only the VI and RY in victory would show on the display during the test ride before purchase. I got home and installed the ipod cable that I purchased then the display worked fine for a few days before it started randomly going out again and would sometimes show 2 radio presets on the screen at the same time. Also it sounds like it has an exhaust leak at the headpipe and twice I had to crank the engine over at least five times before it started and when it did start it backfired, all this in the first week of ownership. The bike is at the dealership now for who knows how long. I hope everything is corrected whenever I get it back because I really love this bike and have done alot of bragging about how nice it is and how great it rides. |

Posts: 103 Davenport, IA | I have an '09 Vision with 21,000 miles. Has not seen the dealer since the day I rode away. I do all the simple maintanance. Longest trip was 4,500 miles to Colorado, 4 Corners, Grand Canyon, Utah and back, no problems. The bike has exceeded my expectations. Everytime I rider her, my grin just gets bigger because every mile gets sweeter! The Vision is so comfortable and forgiving to ride.
I know Harley riders that have their bikes in the shop all the time and don't thing anything about it because they love their brand. Bottom line....I love my brand, "VICTORY" |

Anyway not much to do with these Vics besides oil changes, tires and chrome goodies. I guess I'll walk away from this post shaking my head and go for another hot weather ride! Be safe! |
