Here we go. What, if any, story or meaning is behind your screen name here?

Okie Vision - I live in Oklahoma. Okie is a nickname for that and since I ride a Vision,,,,

A friend of mine was making belt buckles from the punch slugs where I worked. He showed me one that had two eyes, a smile, a dorsal fin and a tail. He asked me what I thought it was. He said it was a chesshire tuna(Alice in Wonderland..chesshire cat) It struck me as funny and I told him when I started my own company ,that is what I would call it. It was 20 years later but I have a custom fab. shop with that name and I use it as my screen name.

It ties me to the bike that was named by a lady friend who, when she first saw my blacked out bike said 'that's really sinister looking' Since sinister is too many letters for a Washington State bike EGO plate, I found SYNSTR was just right and one of only 3 'takes' on sinister still on the DOL website, kinda cheesed off my son who was looking for something similar for his black with gold stripes '08 supercharged SHELBY GT 350.

I also go by RAVEN @ times, it's my totem (DONTRACY will understand) and fits me as I am a prankster and love to deliver a good tweek to some pompous fool.

S F Alexi. My name is Alexi, and in highschool i was called Sexy Flexy Alexi. I've always been in good shape and strong, could do well in sports, pullups, etc. it was during the presidential fitness test (pullups) that this nickname arrived. Doesn't help that that's pretty much the only two things that rhyme with Alexi.

Mine is from High School... Many moons ago. Playing hoops, I'm 6'6" and WAS about 160... running sprints one day I get back to the end line, half the team is laughing (other half running with me) and my point guard said I was the Goopyest thing he's ever scene running, all elbows and knees... He's a very unique guy... anyway it stuck and people still call me goop or goopy today but now I weigh about 285... Huh, the times they are a changing.

Got it 20 years ago.  Back in '92 I started hanging around a local CB group, back then just about every town still had those few that talked on and used CBs because that was just before small handheld cell phones came out, and due to business and my own personal travels I used to average 50K to 60K miles a year on my truck.  The group I belonged to had a rule that you had to be given your handle and when everyone saw how I traveled so much they figured Travelin' Man would be the perfect handle for me.  I use it on every forum I am a member of............

Mine is a very old gamer tag that I had since the 286 days (if that makes sense to you your a geek too). It was originally PhantomXtreme, but that is much to long and shortened it to PhantomX. I'm a big first person shooter gamer (think back to Doom and Duke Nuke'm days) and some of the first mainstream online multiplayer games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, etc I was like a Phantom and i'm a pretty extreme player. Back when I was younger I pulled my fair share of all nighters gaming...

Well we all know that when riding the Vision that we must stop sometime, right. When I do some, anyone & everyone must stop and ask about this great bike. So my H.D. riding buddy calls this time......Victory Hour. Thanks to his help I was able to get the bike home with his truck ... Wife wouldn't let me ride 5 hours during cemo treatment. The bike has helped more the the Dr.'s I think sometimes

I reall did'nt mean to put my name up. Everthing else goes by "Wingit3611". Way back when I had to pick an E-Maill address, I pick Wingit some one else had it so I added the 3611. When I retired back in 1996 I put a big sign on my desk. Gone "WINGING IT". If I could figure out a way to change mine to that I would.

I work for NASA and do a lot of programs at schools, one of them is where I make a comet out of dry ice, dirt, water, and a few other things, the kids started calling me the Cometman- I also have observed over 75 comets in my life, and worked on the Stardust JPL mission that flew through the head of a comet.

You all are a bunch of funny folks LOL. Different names for different reasons.... I moved from Tucson, AZ to Stoughton, WI. and was called a Wildman ( I was) at 17. One guy chimed in and added "The only one of it's kind in captivity, thank God".The name stuck and the 8-ball had to do with the fact that I was a pen stroke away from buying an 8-ball Vision. To go one step more my 08 Vision is "Twister" named after a Super Modified driver named Hank Arnold who raced a Chevy motor that turned backwards (Visionary) around AZ in the early 60's. God Bless him and Mac Mills who had something to do with the car at different times. Hot Rod has a Lloydz fuel contoller, K&N air cleaner w/ holes in the cover along with Custom by Wildman exhaust. Not much for crosswalk to crosswalk but throttle roll-ons on the freeway or open road are a trip.

I found that riding my Vision was and is a nessecity and given that it is a Ness, it worked for me.

Mine was given to me by friends for always working on their 4-wheelers. Not only did I do regular repairs, but I could come up with some interesting quick in the field fixes to get them out of a jam. Been working on my friends and my own 4-wheelers since they first came out.

I bought my second V92 in 2003 and put in the 100" Big Bore kit which made it a "Big Vic" I bought personalized plates for our bikes taking BIG VIC for myself and the wife picked VICHICK. In 2005 I bought a TC and once again put in the 100 CI kit. When I bought the Vision in 2007 it had a 106" motor which was bigger than my 100" motor so BIG VIC was still appropriate. By now I'm just attached to the name and it rides on my 2012 CCT for that reason. Most strangers I meet think my name is Vic because I'm 6"8" tall and 295 lbs. So when they read BIG VIC on my plate they natrually assume I must be Vic.

Mine goes back to the 80s. I was working at a manufacturing plant at the time and there was a peculiar fellow that worked there. He used to put Bo on the end of names. JimBo, RickBo, JohnBo.... Well, you get the point. As many of you remember, there was a different dialect back then. I asked my buddy to "score" me a brownie from the plate one of the ladies brought in. This guy said ScoreBo and the whole cafeteria cracked up. From that point on, I was associated with that word.

Eight years active Army with one combat tour, followed by 23 years of National Guard with a one year deployment - at age 54 I found my engineer butt humping a 60 pound pack, working 14 hour days, 12 on 2 off and starting every day with an hour of PT. Now that'll get your attention! Aged out and retired in 2008. But there are still days when I miss it!

I love primates (monkeys, apes, gorillas, etc). I've collected all things primate for years. About 12 years ago, I needed a nick for a forum and Primateman was taken so I went with Monkeyman. Been that ever since. Everyone knows me at that or they just shorten it to Monk. Even my bike plate reflects my love for primates (PRIME 8).

Had a person warn a new riders " what this guy calls a Sunday morning ride is what most would consider a road trip" this was after he went to breakfast with me and the dinner I picked was in Vermont some 3+ hours away (excellent country roads all the way). So I took that and the fact that I live in RHODE Island and RhodeTrip.

I choose mine, back in the day, when I was ink crazy. Still am, to some degree. But after well over 100 hours 'chair time', I have pretty much run out of room, until I retire. Then we'll see what I can fill in from there. There's always doing some laser work, then re-covering. Hmmm..

MIC was a nickname I picked up in grade school and kept using for the 3 letter high score screens in arcades. When online stuff got bigger MIC was too popular so I added the ego trip (ah, a young teen's folly) and have kept it ever since.

Another response from NW IL ... Hey SammyJ, we met at the Victory Demo Rides in Sterling late fall.

Anyway, back on topic: HLUSN8 = hallucinate (sound it out and say the number), as in having a VISION.
It came to me as an idea when I was waffling over personalized plates and yes HLUSN8 is my IL MC plate.

Not many military names here but, I had 31 years 1 month and 18 days in uniform and would do it all again if I could. My troops and staff fondly addressed me as Smadge as a short for Sergeant Major. I like to think that all 1,000 troops at least had respect for me. Most at least acted as if they liked me .
My focus was always for what was better for the troops and the mission.

Many years ago (31) I spent several hours untangling and dragging an old but serviceable moto-guzzi out of a dumpster that the Italian air force put it in as scrap. took me a month to get it running. After I retired from the USN in '01 I went to work repairing trash compactors and the name came back to haunt me.

I wanted something that captured what it meant to convey the new found freedom after battling a baffling disease. To me, what the closest thing is to be able to soar without flying. To give thanks and to recognize those that have served and are serving our country. What better symbol than our National Treasure, the Eagle. Soaring without flying is the freedom that those of us who ride understand its meaning.

About 1986-87 I was riding my V65 Honda Sabre from Bham to Chattanooga to see a sweet little thing for the w/e. As I entered the Great State of Tenn. I cruised past a TN cop with a radar gun. He said "What the Hell is that thing you're riding, a Roadrocket?". Said I was doing well over 110. Didn't go to jail but did pay a $300+ ticket and that was a LOT of money back then. Insurance dang near doubled, etc. But you know what, it was worth it !

I discovered a number of years ago that if a cage is following you too closely, you can "Zig-Zag" your bike quickly a few times, and usually they will back off. You do have to be careful and not get too extreme with it though. My theory is that the cage driver thinks you're having some kind of emergency and backs off. Later, I joined a riding club and they saw me do this on a few occasions and gave me the name. Thats the official version anyway. It's also on my tag.
