can any one tell me how these go onto the fairing? is it double sided tape or do you have to drill into the faring?

Thanks

They come with double sided tape. Some have opted to augment the fastening with a bolt and nut drilled through the deflector mount and through the side of the fairing as well. IMO, if you explicitly follow the directions for a double sided tape only install; they won't fall off. Mine are still nice and secure since last August when I mounted them.

out of all fairness, I made the suggestion to bolt the lowers on and I don't even use them. As wt has pointed out, that you must follow the instructions explicitly and they will hold, for a time. Consider a few things if you will. First, some have lost their lowers because they have just come off, but look at the reality of what you are doing. You have a small surface mounting to a smooth surface, and you have a wing that will have constant pressure against it when riding. It is exposed to the elements, sometimes extreme, throughout the year. Some will argue that this glue is forever, while others have lost their wings in just a few months. I believe that even if you do everything perfect, all conditions are perfect, you'll have five years tops and you'll loose yours too. The forever solution, IMHO, is to bolt those suckers on and forget about it. Here's what I would do, glue them first, then run your bolt through.

I personal hate the idea hole "holes". It's purely a phycological thing. LOL

If you ever use bug/tar remover or any thing like it. Don't get it anywhere near the mounts. Common sense for some. But not all ;-)

They use double sided tape. Follow the instructions, especially the part about cleaning the area where they go of all dirt and grease and wax. I used rubbing alcohol and let the area dry, then cleaned it again with alcohol and let it dry again, then applied the tape. Mine have been on for over three years and over 130MPH a few times and they're still there.
