| I had new wheels installed awhile back and I'm beginning to think they installed the spacers wrong on the front wheel. Anyone know which side the longer of the two go. I know the larger one goes on the pulley or right side in the rear but I can't find anything about the front. |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | My dealer did this to me on my 2008. I ended up looking here: http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp and after inputing the correct info at the top, then scrolling all the way to the bottom under wheels and looking at the parts diagrams and part numbers as a sanity check I figured it out.
Here is the quick side of it (if I remember and checked correctly). You have 3 different sized spacers - 1 long, 1 medium and 2 shorts. SITTING on the bike, the front has a short on the right and medium on the left. The rear has the long on the right and short on the left.
Please double check it on the website and you will see the shorts on the front and rear have the same part number. |

| Thanks, I see what you mean and mine had them on backwards. That explains the tire wear. |

After removing my front wheel a couple dozen times and mixing them up at least once, I couldn't finish assemblying the front until I corrected. It's okay if you call me on it, but I remember at least one incident that I had put the axle in and something didn't seem right. As far as wear, left or right, that may have to do with the way you sit in the saddle or what you have for a load in your saddle bags, or could be a defected tire compound. |

| While it seems that would be the case they were on backwards and the pads aren't wearing unevenly. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Now you've got my curiosity up. I've got to change my front pads so I'm going to have to "test" this. Maybe I caught it before I did anything else, but it seemed so out of place that it looked like nothing would work. There's a spacer jobby on the fork that throws it off. I don't you, I just can see how it would be done. |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | Chris, It'll go back together. My dealer put both of the shortys on the front and medium and long on the rear and it was drivable. I noticed that it felt a little odd when corning. I went to check the rear tire alignment on the swing arm, dropped the rear tire in the process (checking the bearings, axle, etc) and when I went to put it back together, I wasn't sure what spacer went where (rear). Looking at the pics on Polaris, something didn't seem right, so I pulled my front wheel off and it all made sense. |
