| Has anybody wired a trailer to the Vision? Do you need the relay and where do I get it and what do I all need to complete the process?

| Be hind the taillights are two plug inns one one each side that are wired into the taillight harness. I do believe you can use them. Check with your meter.
Haven't read where any one used a relay |

Posts: 174 Edmonton, AB | I didnt see the plug ins that JohnnyVision mentioned so I spliced into the wires. I did not use a relay. I did use a 5 wire to 4 wire converter because my trailer had a 4 wire plug. Works well for me. |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | I just did this a few weeks ago. I used an isolator / relay from ElectricalConnection.com ( http://www.electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns-trailer.htm ). My Aluma trailer is a 5-wire system. They also sell a 4-wire conversion module. While I was at it, I had a connector from my Scorpio alarm I used to solder in the connections. You could just tap into the brake harness, but I didn't want to. You can buy the connector for the alarm here: http://scorpio.rlink.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path...
All-in-all, it was a straight forward process and I highly recommend using an isolator on newer bikes (2011+). If you don't, you could have cruise control issues.

| My 2011 Vision came pre-wired for a trailer. There's a pigtail of 4 wires under the seat, along the main wiring harness. No need to buy a converter or to splice or tap anything. It has turns and brake function, along with running lights. |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | Turk,
I assume "the pigtail of wires" is about 6" back from the front connector under the electrical tape? I have Gary's sequential harness (Vision-Mod.com) and have 4 wires for wiring up a trailer. My problem was that my trailer is a 5-wire setup (separate turn and brake - not combined like a 4-wire trailer). In my case, I had to get the pick-up wires ahead / in front of the relays.
Gary1, do you know if you are have a 4 or 5 wire trailer? |

That's the one, and you are correct, it is for a twin light trailer setup. I actually used it for my trunk LEDs, but I wanted the center section to function as brake only, so I merely tapped the brake wire separately. I still used the pigtail for turns/brake combo function on the side LEDs. |
