| Hi All I have searched thru all the chirping sound threads and looked at a lot of the model years. I did not notice a lot of owners with 2012s or later reporting the noise. I was wondering if Victory has fixed that problem. I created a poll to get an idea of what years are experiencing the problem. I could not find a search on this if I have missed it I apologize. Also, if the problem was fixed permanently could you let everyone know what that fix was. Thanks Vince |

| I went to the store and bought canning wax. Its $2.98 for a life time supply. Rubbed it on the hole outer edge of the belt and now five thousand miles later still quiet. Oils and dry film draws or holds dirt and dirt will cut the belt.
If you read how to adjust the belt you can all most fix it.
I measured my belt and found the belt width very's by as mush as 25 thousand. Not a true cut for sure. If the belt was a 1/8" narrower we wouldn't have a problem I think. |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | i didnt have chirping on Both my vision (08)-(11) but i DID have a whirling noise on my 11, it was caused by sandy/dustiness on the belt.. i read the 11 service manual and was made aware of this.. I WASHED the belt and it went away... i then also loosened the belt by the slightiest amount... I did this ONLY because on longer days (400+ miles) the belt would get Tight.... i also read about this as well.. when it got tight that when the whirling would get worse. so since i washed and "loosened" the belt it has been 800 miles with No noises at all..
btw all that i mentioned i learned from Reading the vision serivce manual..

Posts: 208 Edmonton Alberta, Canada | My 08 chirped after new tire installed and about 500 miles. However after readjusting tension never has chirooed again, that being 3 new rear tires. I believe the chirping comes from poorly adjusted rear tire. If chirping belt is loose. |

Posts: 103 Davenport, IA | My 09 chirped when it was new. I did the first 500 mile service myself and adjusted the belt. Since then, and after two tire changes while pulling the tire and adjusting belt myself, no chirping. key is, proper belt adjustment! Belt a little loose is better than a belt a little tight. Thanks to many who have posted here on adjusting the belt! Has helped me out tremendously! |
