It's never about the miles, only the memories...

Somebody mentioned to me this morning about when I put my bike up for the winter. I said I don't, and they wanted to know how I could ride all the time. My reply was, that even my ride to and from work was an adventure, and their's was just another drive. They agreed.

Goin' out to Po...

Looking forward to it, just got so much going on lately, but we have still have so riding days left.  The past two week have been fun.  Last Thursday a co-worker hit a deer on I-95 south, I was about a mile behind him.  It totalled his Maxima, caving in the windshield and destroying the roof.  The rain wasn't too bad, by the time I left it was a steady drizzle, I gave in and wore my frogg toggs.  I was totally dry when I got home except for my face and beard.

Thanks to all the rest. This is just my report to you to let you know this is quite a machine. I be riding regardless. It's amazing that 5 years has past since the first Vision hit the street. While there has not been any negative press on the Vision, it takes me back that it is not more popular than what it is. I took the long way home yesterday to ensure that I hit the 125,000 mark and I remember on one leg of my trip that it was the same route that I took a demo ride on a Vision, 5 years to the month. Wow! I couldn't wait to get mine, and at that time, I expected to be riding May of 2008, having a deposit on one. Things worked out to get mine on November 17, 2008 (same as CoolHandLuke) and I've not stopped riding since. Now, to level set, I was riding an 84 Gold Wing for two years, and I rode everyday, mostly. The Vision, made it always, except for ice, or other circumstances beyond my control.

Not to drone on, but my report is to inspire others that you can ride, if you want to, and the Vision, or Victory is as dependable as a car. These were two myths that I believed before I went back to riding; you can't ride in the rain, much, and motorcycles are just not dependable transportation. To both I say, "bully". Ride hard, ride long, ride safe.

Calgary, AB,

Just EXCELLENT. Seems not that long ago you pass the 100K mark.  I also have a Cherry '08, bought last year, but I just broke 20000, and that's KM   so more like 12500 mi.  I keep toying with buying a new VV, (in part to get ABS, in part to start new) but when I read about your success on the '08, I think why would I EVER change this original year bike.Congrats and many more and all safe miles.

It's been a tad over 1 year I hit 100,000, Sept. 9 2011, I think.  I'm slowing down some and I don't know why.  I haven't visited the family that much this year, though I should have.  I need to readjust my priorities.

CHRIS - I admire your 'seat time' - but I think I prefer my scenics, winding roads and co-pilot more! But I LOVE the fact that I might get the rest of my years riding on the BEST BIKE EVER - cuz I will be 90 before I get to your 200,000 kilometers.

On the plus side - Co-Pilot will turn 65 when I do 90 .... and her pensions will whoop mine! TRIKE VISION - Here I come !!!!

Yes, nothing beats a Vision...(except an Indian, but that's on another level, and a different story all together).

It was good to meet you. I'm hoping a few of the Vicsters will get rides up and going, while I don't have much time due to volunteering, when I am able, I'd like to fall into a ride.  Some talked about going somewhere this past Sunday, but I've not heard a report back yet.

I think I remember you mentioning some time ago that you never worried about checking your oil between changes. Now that you are up in miles, are you using oil?
I know your rear shock is failing. And seat tore early on. Belt guard came off. Anything else not holding up so great after 100k we should keep an eye on?

Boots, no, oil continues to be fine between changes. There is some loss, but not a great loss, I don't need to add oil between changes. No smoke, just my oil pressure sensor that's been leaking from the beginning. I should have changed it under warranty but the dealer always seem to want to hold my bike hostage every time I would take it there.

I've had my rear header pipe split twice now. I had it welded last time, this time I'm going to try and wrap it to see if it will hold until I get it welded again.
