If anyone else thinks paying $200 just to talk to the bike, or paying thousands to get the Victory software is BS then we think alike.

I do electronics and some code. I'm looking for others who want to help create an open source solution.

If anyone knows what processor is used in the ECU that would be helpful. If anyone has a damaged ECU that might still communicate, that WOULD be helpful.

Does anyone know if the ECU is OBDII compliant?

There are plenty of options out there for Jap bikes and cars, we need this for Victory motorcycles!

I agree Tim. My buddy says his cross country has to be flashed for some of the different things to show up which is just a way to get more money. And they know we will pay it because personally, I will never ride another hardly again! I'm victory now, never go back!

My point is we should not have to buy some type of piggy back solution. The ECU doesn't need anything other than the correct information. IF we could talk to it, we wouldn't need anything else.

We need an open source solution. This has nothing to do with anyone not wanting to ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The ECU is manufactured by Visteon, it uses an ST10F273M processor. Looking at the datasheet this processor has most if not everything required to build the ECU. It also uses CAN 2.0 as a comm protocol.

Looking for one to play with. Anyone have a damaged ECU they do not need back? Working of not.

Good luck on this... I agree fully and am a old time "hacker." Keep us in the loop.

Had joined a couple other Victory forums, just getting my feet wet. Seems they are mostly filled with HD bashing and people whining about legal issues of mods. I'll stick around here instead....but this is NOT going to be a quick project or move along fast. It will take time to get parts to play with, then learn how to communicate. It's just the beginning of hacker time.

I don't understand the flash.
Our bikes are set up to run at sea level or up at pikes peak. The ECM adjust to what ever altitude were at. So if you change exhaust and add a air cleaner wouldn't be like ridding at some altitude

Not exactly. The ecu stock can only adjust so far. It works within a define set of min/max parameters. Stay within those parameters and the bike will adjust fine outside those and a reflash or fuel controller is needed.

Lloyd has someone somewhere adjusting the timing tables, fuel tables, moving and deleting rev limiters. Wonder who and how?
