New Bohemia, VA | I'm currently waiting on the 3 piece exhaust system for my '08 Vision I won off of eBay. I think I'm getting a good deal and hopefully this will take me over the 200,000 mark. The exhaust looks like new from the eBay photos and it makes me think that this is from a wrecked Vision that didn't have any exhaust damage. It also makes me think of the original Vision and its owner, the miles that was done, the places it had been, and if the rider is okay despite the Vision being parted out. While we ride on machines, it caresses the soul and life of the rider. Crazy thoughts I know, but it is things that I think about. Just like the hole in my original exhaust, perhaps giving way to the pounding of the sunup to sundown run across the country in triple digit soaring heat. It's not a rusted out exhaust pipe, it is memories...

Tucson, AZ | Has that burned through a repair weld? Man I hope not....still have mine temp. patched with ceramic fibre, but if its going to burn through a weld I wont waste my time.

New Bohemia, VA | I always end up with these roswell alien pictures, or loch ness monster, blurry and hard to make out what is what. To the right of the hole is the weld, so it was the same spot just bigger and to the rear of the pipe more. The original hole was a split and easy to weld. The metal around the hole is brittle and I could chip away and make it bigger. Something to note is that when I called the dealer to order the pipe he said it had a new number from the original, meaning they made an upgrade. I would wish there was a recall, but for exhaust that is not likely. Another thing to note is that when I first got my Vision I had an exhaust leak at the manifold, making the bike run rich, and cooler. After I replaced the gaskets, the bike was running lean and hot, and I mean hot. I noticed the tone change coming back from California, and it was a month or so later I noticed the back of the cylinder head was turning brown. Pulling the chrome that's when I saw the split. The metal seemed good, but that green seems to indicate something, the welder made a mention of it, but I don't recall what it was. Having known all of this I would have replaced the pipe last time instead of welding. |

New Bohemia, VA | I need to document everything that I've every had replace, but the major things that I can remember is
1 - pulley 122,000 (worn bad, should have been replaced around 50,000)
2 - fuel pump (around 56,000 under warranty, never run your tank below 1/4, jmho)
3 - voltage regulator (98,000, under warranty)
4 - header pipes (127,000, good use out of these)
Starting this morning, should be rolling around 4pm. I'm missin' all the weddin's, great riding, and games...naw, not really. |

Sand Rock, AL United States | LOL! Thanks, the bride is our youth ministers daughter , youth minister is one of my best friends , really been there for me through hard times (rides a Suzuki C50). Both my kids are in the youth group now.The grooms dad is a preacher. The young couple share the same values and Godly priorities. I know they will have a blessed future together. Now get to work on those pipes!

I'll post some later, the pipes are fairly new, my guess, less that 10,000 miles on them, still has the chrome polish look on the pipes with just a little blueing. Everything matched up perfect and even the chrome overlays line up better than my originals. I don't think my o2s were working well, seems to run better than before. Sounds tooooooo quiet...I might breakout and get some slip ons. I like how the hardball sounds, I wonder if those mufflers would work? |

New Bohemia, VA | Okay, small pictures. You have to pull the filter to take off the crossover and rear pipe combo. So that leaves the filter mount exposed which has always bothered me, so I took a filter, SuperTech ST7317 if any one is wonder, and cut the mounting end off. I then rolled the edges, and taped it over, and then installed it. Made me feel better. On our way to Williamsburg for some roadkill....

I saw the pic of the hole in the exhaust. Glad you finally got the new exhaust on. Good idea with the cut up oil filter. |

New Bohemia, VA | No - I want to get a more stable and bigger lift. With that said, it is adequate to remove tires, do brakes, etc, but beyond that, I get a little shaky with it on there. I used it to level off when I did the exhaust recently but the tires were on the ground. But I've been using it now for about 4 years to do services, etc. I recommend pulling the trunk if you're going to work on it for any length of time, better balance. Okay, for the price, not a bad little jack. Did that help? |

Peru, IN | bronzebomber --- Congrats on the new bike. BTW, "Ryder" would probably be better than "Vary". I think his nick stands for "Virginia Rider" although at 25k miles a year, "Virginia Flyer" might be more appropriate. (Just feeling picky atm, mate.)
