Posts: 143 Lexington Park, MD | Just popping a question out there. Here is the link to a site I found through the IBA and got involved with this fall. ToH 2012 is nation wide which I rode Virginia (since I live here) visiting all 7 memorials and we chose to do it combined with the IBA Memorial Day rding event as a SS1K which if visiting all 7 memorials made it an extreme ride. I will post the trip report if someone is interested but my curisoity is feedback on the TOH itself.
Steve the coordinator had asked if I could help sponsor VA's 2013 memorial updates this year which our local Gold Wing group (GWRRA VA Ch L) is in work on right now. We are going to be heading out for the site visits over the next few weeks gathering the info for the web pages and what I was curious of is not only your thoughts of registering and riding the TOH itself but WHAT should be usable feedback on each of the memorials pages. Our goal is to gather not only data about the memorial but scenic routes to it, possible places to eat, maybe coordinate a discount at a chow house using your TOH banner.
We have a great state to ride in here in VA and as we put together the memorials to visit were keeping the routes in mind as well. Such as the Blue Star memorial highway. heres the link. http://www.virginia.org/Listings/HistoricSites/BlueStarMemorialHighwayMarker/
The memorials were something else to see, many were very moving once you read what was going on with it so I hope you will check out your state and hopefully register to ride in upcoming 2013. As I said, there is certified IBA recognition too if extreme riding is your fancy AND TOH supports Wounded Warrior. http://www.tourofhonor.com/
Thanks for the feedback folks!? Select all that apply
