| It is on the Honda web-site as one of 6 new models for 2013...Will be available in Jan 2013....Nice, but not for me.....Nothing more than a standard Goldwing without trunk, ABS, and tall windshield...New seat is same height as before but with narrower front section.........I'm keeping my Vision!! |

Posts: 785 Mt. Vernon, WASH. | The original GOLDWINGS were pretty much 'strippers' and were very slow movers until Craig Vetter started making quality fairings and trunks for them. The RHUNE of about 10 or 12 years ago was sort of a tribute to the original 'WING' |

Lame. Trying to make the old fart gold standard cool = FAIL. IMO, of course. Seems dumb to me, still a old-man-mobile but with less storage. Yuck.

Nice looking bike. Gives customers another option.
Think Honda will sell the trunk as an option without a matching keyed lock? O.o
The full Wing is great in the twisties for a big beast and this has just got to be better. |

It is. If it had long floorboards with lots of foot/leg room and a low seat height like the Vision, it would be hard to beat. But it doesn't. Had one. Have a Vision now, and loving it.

I owned a wing a few years ago, I can't say it wasn't a reliable bike, it was. Other than replacing the alternator plug all I did was maintenance. That being said,to me it didn't have any character. I have several friends that still ride them and swear by them and that's great but not for me. |

No. My Vision is a s quiet as a Goldwing, but it has "soul" where the Goldwing does not. It sounds like a motorcycle, it feels like a motorcycle. The Vision has characteristics that are considered to be inferior to the Goldwing by the diehard Goldwing rider. It has a small amount of vibration. It has strong power pulses at low RPM high throttle application. It has a "thump" to the exhaust sound, even with stock exhaust. These are all negatives to the dedicated 'Wing rider. They prefer the sewing machine sound and complete lack of any "character" of the Goldwing. They want a two-wheeled Honda Accord, which they got. That's fine, if that's what you enjoy.

It has a little too much soul. Actually, a lot too much, especially the earlier ones with the solid mounted motors.
I wanted one SO bad when I was in high school.

Im not a dedicated "anything" rider......Im a dedicated RIDER.
If there is a machine for me thats better for my purpose then thats what Im going to ride.
When I went touring bike shopping I weighed all the options and choose a Victory Vision. Not because it has "soul". I bought it because its the single most comfortable motorcycle I could find.
I came from an older Wing......I tried to ride a GL1800 but my knees hit the fairing. Im sure this new one will be no different in that respect.....unless the seat changes the ergonomics significantly.
Soul......to me seems ridiculous.
I own several (over a dozen) motorcycles.......everything from a Russian Ural sidecar......to a rigid bobber......a BMW adventure bike.....etc.
Bikes dont have SOUL.......riders have SOUL. A tool on a Harley or Victory (SOUL bike) is still a tool........and a real biker is just that, rather hes riding a Goldwing or an old Pan or Shovel.
Never bought into that soul BS.......even when kicking over a rigid......or thumbing the start button on my BMW GS. |

Posts: 259 Land O Lakes, FL | I like it! The black one is sick. I've had 2 wings, enjoyed them both. I love my Vision but it's very different from a Wing. This would be a great addition to the family alongside the ZX14 and the Vision. I'm sure the wife will go ballistic when I bring one home lololol... |

I understand your thinking. Instead of "soul" we can just call it individual character. IMO there is a big difference between the inline 4's I've had: BMW K1200S, K1200GT, Hyabusa, B-King the V4 ST1300 the Sprint tripple and the v-twins from Aprillia, Buell and assorted HD's and choppers. The 4's and the flat 6 are very smooth and even firing which gives them less character IMO. Although they are fast as hell. The one bike I owned that DID HAVE A SOUL was my Vincent Black Shadow BUT I DOUBT JUST ANY TOOL COULD HAVE STARTED IT. |

How about something like a Honda RC51?? Character......no character?
If the engine is smooth it cant have character?
Ehh.....whatever works for everyone, to each their own. |
