| I put in a new handrail at my Mom's house this past weekend. Too old to dig post holes any more.
Yesterday I needed to get out for a ride. Decided to ride to Higgin's in Barre, MA. It was 37 degrees when I left my house It made it to 51. Leather over pants, leather jacket, silk scarf, Victory cold weather gloves, a full helmet and heated seat and grips were perfect for the day. It takes 2-1/2 hours on the back roads to get there. Great day for riding. Not one tailgator and everyone waited for me before pulling out. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The nice thing about Higgin's is the pellet stove display which I checked out and warmed up nicely. of course this time of year the sleds are out front but he had plenty of bikes on display. Bought a hat and patch with the new logo. As I was getting ready to leave a sport bike pulled in. The first bike for the day. I stopped at the Cozy Cabin to eat. I just missed breakfast. I have wonderful homemade cinnamon raisin bread. I decided on the liver and onions. Perfectly cooked and filled me up. It's always a great place to eat. When Anny in in for service I walk there. Just so you know it's about 2 miles east on 122.
I had a perfect ride home and saw 3 more bikes out and about.
Happy Turkey Day to all. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | I'm planning a 300 mile ride tomorrow. I hope the crazies aren't out in force. Should be nice with a low in the 40s (at about 0600 when I start out) and a high in the low 60s (when I get home). I was going to ride today but the fog just lifted and I worked all night. Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man happy, wealthy (really?) and....riding his Vision all over. (I think that's how it goes.)
Glad you got some good riding in today. |

And yes, we have our famous Salmon swimming across roads because of all the heavy rains. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | We certainly have been blessed this year. Fog alerts out yesterday morning so I didn't ride and again this morning but I'm going out when the sun comes up (and burns off the fog) anyway. I have a nice little 300 mile route all planned out and it's supposed to get pretty windy this afternoon so I can't wait too long to leave. |
