Posts: 763 Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | I used MS Streets & Trips for many years before the smartphone. The program came with a GPS receiver that plugged into my laptop via USB. The laptop sat on the center console of the van and acted exactly like the factory navigation systems cars have today. I also ran a cord from the headphone jack directly to the stereo amp (this was before head units came with a Aux In jacks). Thousands of songs and navigation through the stereo.
I have not used Microsoft Streets & Trips since my first smart phone in 2008. When I did use it I really liked it. Great for planning and really great as a GPS. Obviously the GPS part is not practical on a motorcycle and is quite surpassed by smartphone cababilities nowadays. Anyway, I gave MS Streets & Trips two thumbs up back then. I'm sure it is still a great program.

Posts: 367 Cottage Grove, Mn | I have been using this program now for nearly 15 years now and it has never steered me wrong. I originally just used it just map directions from airports to hotels to racetracks. Now I use it to plan all my motorcycle trips. I can plan hotels, gas stops, restaurants and attractions along the way. I believe you can get a 60 day free trial with no obligation just by signing up. In the words of my grandson "its the bomb".
