Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Looks like there are no more CFR pipes available for 2013 Visions. I Have CFR's on my 2008 and I like the way they sound and the power they make. Was wondering how loud are the Thundersticks compared to the D&D pipes, I'm sure they both make good power. Wanting something not too loud for extended highway riding but louder than Stage 1 level 1's.................
Any owners of these two pipe brands care to comment................. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I haven't heard the D&D's but have heard the Thundersticks. By far the most unique, powerful sounding pipes I've ever heard. Wasn't obnoxious loud, just oozed a powerful pulse. Hard to explain. A group of us were standing around at the AVR a few years ago and bikes were coming and going non-stop. All of a sudden a bike came around the corner and every head in the group turned in unison to see who that was. Vision with Thundersticks. I asked the guy (who rode to Iowa from Utah) how they were on the highway and he said that they are longer than normal pipes and the cone on the end focuses the sound way behind the bike at speed. I think you'd like them. He also made the most power on Lloyds dyno that weekend for a bike with just the cam/controller upgrade. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I remember Ness had a couple of Visions at a show back in '08. One had his Big Honkers on it the other, Thundersticks. The loudness was similar but the cone on the Thundersticks addressed a drop in low-end torque that the Honkers had. |
