i want to cover my console [not sure what to call it]. the center piece holding switches and radio. as you prob. know, it can put a terrible glare in your face. i would like paint it, cover it, or something cool. any thots? Also as I removed cover, i pondered lowering my front to match having my rear already lowered 1". I had read on forum about this being done. to my amazement, i loosened bolts, and wrapped on bottom of forks with rubber mallot and they moved right up. yea! cant wait to ride, i hope this will help me be a little more stable riding my sweetheart.

There are a lot of things you can do with the center console. I painted mine but others have covered theirs in whatever they like. There's even a chrome version although I would think the glare would be a bit much.

Most have used Carbon Fiber wrap which looks nice and is not to hard to install if you take your time...Not sure where to get it, but someone will know on the site......

Just had mine done a couple of weeks ago, I have the wine red 2011 color. The center console was that crappy black the scratches real easy. Had it marbleized in wine red and black. Looks great. I also had the front V and front area around the speakers done. Left the speaker covers black and painted the cheap chrome cover around the gages black. Those who have seen it really like it.

The '09s had an aluminum dash? Are you sure? Besides, plastic can be painted just as well as aluminum.

got my carbon fiber at www.simcarbon.com brought console in the house and wrapped my console, must say i am very pleased with the results. cant wait to see how it looks mounted. the hardest part was trying to hold the piece while wrapping. had to have help to hold it. next time i;ll try to use a vise or something.

Are you talking about the dash ( aka gauge bezel), or the center console ?

My dash is plastic, and my center console (top portion) is aluminum.

great idea lojac with mounting console to 2x6. that would have made it much easier. I also decided to paint the gauge bezel flat black. I went for a ride this evening. the sun was behind me .and sure enough...GLARE, coming from chrome bezel. the flat black carbon fiber matches the dash and speaker area perfectly. I,m happy, happy, happy!

I went with a different look. Since the Vision is such an Classy Bike I used a Burlwood Wrap on my center console and really like the woodgrain. Contrast's nicely with the Bike

Looks like they do not have it in matte, but there are plenty of others.
When I am tired of this one I may go to the Birds eye maple next...
