Posts: 7 Delavan, Wisconsin | I would like to add a GPS to the new Vision. I don't know anything about motorcycle gps systems. Victory offers a Garmin 660 but that seems a little high. Are gps units more expensive. Any recommendation? Where is the perfered place to mount the gps? Also thinking about communication system but I will post that later. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

I think the 350 is the newest but they've had the 550, 600 and 660, too. One made for a car (or your cell phone) works fine as long as you bring a zip lock baggie with you to cover it up in inclement weather.
The 660 is about as expensive as they get. Not worth it in my opinion.
There are 2 basic ways to mount a GPS on a Vision. Either you can mount it on the center stack (aka dash) like the factory wants you to do or you can buy a RAM ball that screws into one of the threaded mounts on either the clutch or front brake reservoirs. I have mine on the front brake reservoir (with a Kruzer Kaddy on the clutch side). It's more in line with my vision (pardon the pun) than the stock mount. |

Also in the box is the wiring harness for the GPS and a portable car mounting kit. I agree with Monkeyman in regards to the price. The reason I bought it was I added it to the cost of the bike build and the cost was rolled into financing. |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | A Garmin nuvi 550 is water tight so anything more is up to you. I find that I can outfit a 550 to display well for me. If I relied on sound, I would not find that 550 acceptable at all. It has no blue tooth capability at all. I never get an audible clue from my 550 on a bike since it is so quiet. On the other hand it is water tight and gives me plenty of visual cues between turns. I just mount my 550 so that I can always read the visual output. I may look at it every other mile or so but when I get to a short distance before the next turn I find that I focus on it a lot more. In the worst case, I need to glance at it a lot as I approach a turning point. It does very well but without sound I must rely on visual displays. |

Every year I take a 7-8 day trip and it has not failed me yet, even in cities I know nothing about. It wont play through the system but who cares all you need to do is glance at it. You can also plug it into the glovebox port, Get a USB port converted about $5 and plug your I-Phone cord in, your set to go. (also will stay charged) |

It came with lifetime map updates and traffic warnings. (LM/LT)
I mount it with its suction cup right below the ignition key and haven't had any problems with it in over 47,000 miles of use.
When it rains, I put a Ziplock Sandwich bag over it.
I'd rather spend my money on gas for long distance trips than on gadgets. |

I bought the Garmin 665, which is about the same price as the Victory branded 660, but the 665 adds weather radar and live traffic info. It's mounted using the Victory dash cradle mount and cradle/cable assembly, although I had to swap the circuit board with the one that came with the 665 (as documented elsewhere in these forums).
