Stopped on a hill and my left foot slid on some sand/gravel and layed it down. Hill was too much for tip over protection and she rolled onto her side. A few small scratches on the left saddlebag which I will see if it will buff out and scratched up tip over. The left mirror cover hit also and cracked the black plastic that covers the mirror and extends down as the speaker cover. A couple of questions if anyone knows: Is piece the same on the 2011 as it was on earlier models and how the heck do you take this piece off? Before anyone tells me to use search, Thanks but I tried it and didn't get the answer that I needed.

I think you pull of the bezel and you'll see some screws there, and if you pull of the front cowl, there are screw there. Part of it is removing the mirror because there is a screw or two behind it. Not the hard, it'll just make you think. I cringed when you said you stopped on a hill and almost didn't want to read anymore. I'm glad it was no worse you were hurt. Bikes can be fixed, people, not so easy.

Dont for get to remove the gauge bezel and the best way to do that is with some plastic pry bars so you dont scratch anything. It is just snapped in with automotive style clips. If memory serves me I think once you remove the front cowl panel (dont forget to unplu antenna) there are 6 mm allen bolts in the top corners and I think there are 10 mm bolts you will need a racheting wrench to get to between the turn signals and mirrors back sides. once all the bolts are out slowly wiggle the mirror out then there are some bolts I think behind it. Its not hard to remove any of this but just take your time and have a nice small flash light to look around. I think you can get a down load at the vic site for service manuel to see what all is needed. If not send me a line I might be able to email you one. These bikes are very easy to work on once you figure out were the bolts are or clips. Your part might be able to be fixed also, I did that to mine going to do the dragon pulling into the cabin late the first night when my front tire when in a huge hole. The bike threw me into the street and rolled past the tip overs because of the hill with her on the back. Good luck

Got a new plastic cover at my local dealer, Cruisin 66. They had a couple in stock, so I'll give it a try in the next couple of days.
