Posts: 53 Claremont,Mn | Ok, so I pulled the trigger on a 2012 VV. Had my good buddy meet the dealer I bought it from and trailer it home roughly 300miles. Long story short, he strapped it by the bars and I just read on here that it could've damaged the steering? Any insight would b appreciated . Neither him nor I have ridden the bike since he returned yesterday.

| The heated grips have a three position rocker switch up on the dash.
HI, Low, and the middle is off.
No help here with the possible damage to steering. I would think that if it were loaded at the dealer and there was a potential problem with the method, the dealer would say something.
There I go again... Thinking!

| The prefered strap points are at the fwd tip overs. There should be a threaded hole on the under side where you can install an eye bolt.
The center position of the switch should be the off position. |

Posts: 53 Claremont,Mn | My bad. I didn't guy the bike from a Vic dealer. My buddy met the transport guy halfway to pick it up. I bought it from a bike shop. I just downloaded the owners manual. Wish I'd done that first. Hope nothings wrong now with steering. |

| AS long as they didn't crank down the straps too hard I doubt there would be a problem. |

Posts: 71 Willmar, MN | The handle bars are mounted in isolators...a rubber mount...one for each bolt. If you crank the tie downs to hard you can damage the isolators. It is easy to notice, your bars will have back and forth movement...side to side to some degree also...just feel wobbly. Hope that isn't the case, it would sure ruin your first impression of a great bike! |

| I know your pain. I bought Anny from a dealer in NJ. They strapped her down by the bars and I asked are you sure that's okay? The owner and the mech both said it was fine. Of course I get home and as always I read the owners manual before anything else and right there it tells how to do it correctly. I have never been back to that dealer. Anny has been fine. Also I had them installed the heal shifter and the mech did not adjust it right.... |

| Worse you could of done is blow the front seals or bend the bars.
If the bars look straight ride it I dough you did any harm to the bike. |

The OEM accessory heel shifter on my '12 Vision isn't adjustable. I don't know what kind you got but it's just a 2 bolt process. Either it's bolted on or it's not. |

rf43mn is right-on. The same damage will occur if you make a habit out of demonstrating how the tipovers work and how easy it is to set the bike back up. If the bars are loose just replace the isolators and you're good as new. ENJOY!! |

| when I had a rear flat the other day, I rode it up on my trailer, put front tire against trailer frame, and laid it on the tipovers. put on a couple straps and away we went. didnt have to worry about it tipping over. haha. rode great! I'd haul it like that again.

| I asked my dealer for the shipping eyebolts that were on a bike I saw still in the crate. He was shocked because most people leave them behind. I was shocked because it is easy to tie the back down if needed. You may be able to get a set from a local dealer. |

The owners manual mentions this if I'm not mistaken. However, I do use the eye bolts as a secondary just for security measure. |
