| My 11 Vision is in the shop and the mechanic is telling me that I will probably need a transmission? WTH? The bike has a little over 10,000 miles and is 13 months old. To add to that the 11's only came with a 1 year factory warranty and the extended warranty my not cover the repair. I was under the impression that the new transmission had a 100,000 mile warranty, I have been bragging to everyone about it. Can anyone help me find that in writing? I love my Vision but right now I am not feeling to good about the 20,000 cash I gave away just 13 months ago! |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | Why would the extended warranty not cover it??? Thats the point of the warranty. ... also I never ever heard of any motorcycle ever having a 100, 000 mile warranty on any part on anything before |

Posts: 1365 Central Maryland | The new transmission is supposed to have an expected 100,000 mile service life, though I imagine it will go quite farther with regular maintenace (VA Rider has accumulated in excess of 100K on his)
The extended 5 year warranty is supposed to cover the engine and tranny. How the wrench is saying that is doesn't, is mystery to me.
Find another dealer. |

| I don't recall Victory ever claiming a 100K mile warranty on the trans but they sure did make a big deal about it being a "100,000 mile trans". I can't imagine anything you could have done to cause a transmission failure short of not changing the oil or speed shifting it or something ridiculous like that. Even if you didn't have an extended warranty I can't see where they wouldn't step up to it after the big fuss they made. I think the mechanic is just blowing hot air without having ever called his factory rep. I wouldn't worry too much about it. BTW, I had problems with my '11 trans as well. It used to get stuck in gear and was very rough shifting. The Vic salesman bought it from me and he still has trouble with it. In '13 they changed all the gears and shifter wheel again but didn't tell anybody. My '13 shifts like a Japanese bike compared to the '11.

| I have a 08 Vision just under 30K and am currently having the tranny rebuilt to the tune of 2,800 bucks. Bike wouldn't downshift from 4th to 3rd. All the noise you hear about bullet proof trannies is just that noise. |

Starting to wonder about Victory quality. Only 30K on it and it needs a rebuild? Wow! |
