Posts: 18 Austin, Texas | I signed the papers on a new '08 Tour Premium Midnight Cherry. I pick it up tomorrow.
Now, looks like I have a few accessories to install.
FYI, the owner of the dealership just got back from Vegas and stated that they had a meeting with an engineer from Victory. They talked about the heat issues people are having (without the lower deflectors). They are thinking of cutting slots in the inner portion of the aluminum trim that is adjacent to the engine to allow more air through to try and remove some of the heat.
The owner of the dealership is actually going to have his service dept. cut out a section of that trim (the part closest to the engine). I'll be watching to see the results.
Now, does anyone have any good reviews on headsets (other than the Victory ones)?

I have the Nolan N-42 N-com with the bluetooth kit. I prefer listening to my ipod through the bike's speakers at lower speeds. The bluetooth intercom between pilot and passenger is great, as well as between two bikes if the two helmets are affiliated. Range is up to 30 - 40 yards. When a MP3 or ipod is connected to the pilots helmet by wire the bluetooth affiliated helmet will also hear the music, and still have voice communication. Bluetooth phone connections work very good too. For privacy, intercom connections break off for phone calls and has to be reestablished by the pilot. |

I just want to clarify...they are doing the cutting on the owner's Vision, not on mine (not ready to start carving up my bike just yet)..

Congrats! I know you will enjoy your new ride!
Sunday my co-workers and others will ride from Caliente Harley on the west side of San Antonio to Luckenbach (all backroads) then on to Fredericksburg, TX for some shopping and lunch. It will be a mix of bikes including Ninjas, Harleys and at least one Vision.
We should be pulling into Luckenbach from 10:30 to 11:00.
I will be 2-up on my Black and Chrome Vision. Come on out for a ride and say hello!
Anyone that can make is welcome to attend. We will be meeting at Caliente Harley at 8:00 AM and leaving for Luckenbach at 8:30 AM. My vision is in the shop but I am told it will be ready tomorrow.
Take care,

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | I think the best headset option for the Vision is the top of the line ones made by J&M Corporation. They have the best sound quality and are constructed better. The owner of J&M also bought a Vision and loves it. They also make a set of speakers for the Vision that make a big improvement. I have both of these items and really like them. I went with the Arai classic helmet and it works great. |

Posts: 297 VA | proffsionl, your post doesn't say where you are, but if you go by the dealer and see the fins with the cuts, please take a pic and see what it is that he did and find out if it was effective. I really hate to do any cutting on my beauty, but if he helps with heat that much, I may consider it after the bugs have been worked out of it. I have been thinking for awhile that something to direct more engine across the heads of the engine might help carry the heat away from the rider. I'd really appreciate any pics thast you might get.

I will ask them to take pics once they are done. I could tell that even the service manager (the one who will actually be doing the cutting) was a bit nervous about it. I would much prefer this to using the lower deflectors.

I understand, I would have picked Sunday as well. I will check with the wife and see if August 9th is a good day for her. Lucky me, I live about 3 miles from the Victory dealer. |

Posts: 297 VA | Thanks proffsionl. I really don't want to cut, but it'd be better than the wind deflectors. Can't even ask the wife to let me blow some more money on highway pegs otherwise I'd try that to beat the heat. Which dealer is it, and where are they located?

Posts: 18 Austin, Texas | The dealer is Napalm Motorsports in Austin, Texas. They got the idea from a Victory engineer at the dealer show in Las Vegas, so Victory is aware of the mod.
The real bummer on this is that due to a last minute financial hiccup Friday night (we just got a $25K repair bill for replacing a sewer line on my late mother's house), I was unable to close the bike deal. It's on hold for now.
I'll still be watching to see how the fix works, though.

Congrats on your new ride. I also pulled the trigger on a black street premium on Saturday and got a good deal on this one. The ride home was superb to say the least.
Ride safe
