Pre-ordered my Vision April 2007, got it Thanksgiving of 2007. The OEM battery didn't last very long. Just ordered my 3rd battery, a Braille B2015.

Vision purchased June 2008. Still on original battery. Keep it charged on a trickle charger attached through the jack in the trunk whenever it is in the garage.

My bike was built 11/20/2007. I bought it in May of 2008. The original battery died a month later. The replacement is still going strong. I do put a float charger on it when the riding slows down.

'08 Vision. Live in Florida and ride year-round. Original battery started ' acting up' last year (2012) so I replaced it, rather than be stuck somewhere.

March '08 - still on original battery. Never ANY problem. NEVER owned a bike in 54 years that had a battery last longer than THREE years. I consider my Vision Battery just another part of the MIRACLE that is a VISION !!!

I ride YEAR-ROUND. Bike never sits for more than 2 weeks. I do use a 'tender' that is plugged in whenever I know the bike might sit for a week or more.

My plan is to replace the original battery - AT 6 YEARS (coming spring) - AMAZING !

I replaced mine when it was a little more than 4 years old. No problems but I never had one on any other motorcycle last more than 3 years and I thought it would be easier to change out in my garage than on the road.

Off the 'show room floor' May of '08. Still using the original battery, but, it is showing signs of wearing out. I now have a trickle charger in service when the temps drop into the 40's and 30's. I have no issues starting, but the voltage was dropping lower on a cold morning start up. I am researching batteries again. Now it is to the point I want to see how long it will last. And hoping I don't get stranded.

Purchased July 2008. Over 5 yrs later and 50,000 miles (80,000 km) the original battery is going strong. I do not own a tender. I charged it a couple of times with a regular quick charger when I ran the battery down while installing stereo equipment in 2008. I will definately buy the same battery when this one finally fails.

I wonder if the early failures were due to the loose battery terminal on 2008's. ???

I have a 2008 it had the original battery on board. Then the dealer in Ohio could not start it so he threw a new battery in it but it was way to small for the bike. I kept having weird things happen lights on the dash coming on misfires and other things so I went to my local dealer to have the computer reflashed. They looked at it and said where did you get that battery. It was out of a garden tractor according to them. They replaced it and smooth sailing ever since. I am willing to bet the first battery was still good and the seller took the cheap way out. Archie

My 2008 Vision still has the orig battery in it. I have it on Battery Tender from when I first got the bike. It is getting scary how long this has lasted. I left the BT off for about a month this summer and seems to still hold a great charge. Its now like driving a car thats on empty, how long can this sucker go before it quits. Lol

It's pretty hard to beat the OEM Yuasa. Stick with the high CCA ones as specified for the Vision and Cross bikes and bikes such as the Goldwing. They will be rated 300 CCA or more. There are good aftermarket replacements. I've had good luck with the Westco batteries.

The GL1800 Goldwing uses the same battery, so you can shop accordingly.

The cheaper batteries sold by some parts stores and places like Walmart are cheaper for a reason--they are only 250 to 270 CCA and likely won't last but a year or two. Buying those is false economy.

Slightly off-topic...

Wondering if the accessory plug in the dash works for a tender? I noted from another post the one in the trunk stays hot and would work but I run without it installed most of the time.

Curious since it would make using my tender simpler...

The plug in the console compartment is not hot all the time, only when key is on. That's how it is on my '09.

That's what I thought but never really paid attention.

I will need to either pull the battery and put it on the 4-battery tender I already have running or just hit it with a top-off charge every couple of weeks. At least the battery isn't too much of a pain to get to but haven't tried to pull it out just yet...

Thanks again!

The lighter socket in the trunk is always on. That is a place you could connect. You could also install a tender socket directly to your battery.

My '08 still has the original battery, with no hint of failure. I'll probably replace it pretty soon anyway. I put it on the battery tender sometimes when I think about it, which is not often.

My 2011 Vision battery made it about a year and it was done. Pretty common these days here in Florida because of the heat I believe. I never get more than a year or two on a battery in my bikes.

At around 10k, my battery/alternator took a dump. Warranty took care of it with a great dealer and no problems since. Just one of those things that can happen. Still love the VV and have no plans to trade.

My Vision was built April 9, 2008 and I bought it new February 7, 2009 so I'm guessing the battery was not put "into service" until then. March 2015 still original battery with no signs of weakening. I do plug it into a battery tender Jr about once a week. I may replace it this spring just as a precautionary maintenance item.
